J'Son (singer)
J'son (born Jason Tyrel Thomas; May 14, 1980) is an American R&B singer who was signed to Hollywood Records in the 1990s with three charting hits on the US Billboard Hot 100. He also scored two top 5 singles in New Zealand. Career J'son grew up in South Central Los Angeles singing on the street corner for tips after school. He started singing at the age of eight in an attempt to gain his mother’s attention, which is when his singing abilities were recognized. At the age of 13 J'son met Minetta D. Gammage who then introduced him to her business partner David Esterson, who helped get a record deal with Hollywood Records. In 1995 J'son released his first single "Take A Look". The song peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100, #26 on Billboard's Rhythmic Top 40 chart, #38 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Club Play chart and #54 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. Jason Christopher Watson (born June 22, 1981), who goes by the stage name Json, is an American Christian hip hop musician. He was a member of Christian hip hop collective, 116 Clique. Early life Json was born Jason Christopher Watson, in St. Louis, Missouri on June 22, 1981. When he was three years old his father died. His mother Barbara moved the family to Los Angeles, California, where she became a crack-cocaine addict and was arrested, separating herself from her son because she was forced to move back to St. Louis. Json would soon follow her back to the Midwest city, became a drug abuser, and was incarcerated. Personal life Json married his longtime girlfriend Lawanda Nicole "Nikki" Watson (née, Childress), after they both stopped abusing drugs, and converted to Christianity. Jason William Mizell Jr. (born April 14, 1986), better known by his stage name DJ Jam Master J'Son, is an American musician, music producer, and Disc Jockey (DJ). He is the oldest son of deceased Run DMC DJ Jam Master Jay. He is currently the official DJ of his father's hip hop group Run–D.M.C. Early life Mizell Jr. was born in New York City, New York.
