J. Randolph Tucker Jr.
John Randolph "Bunny" Tucker Jr. (June 29, 1914 – November 27, 2015) (nicknamed "Bunny") was an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1950 to 1958, and later as a judge of the Circuit Court in Richmond. Early and family life He was born in Richmond, Virginia to the former Mary Byrd Harrison (1884–1959) and John Randolph Tucker Sr. (1879–1954). His paternal grandfather was Henry St. George Tucker III, and Bunny Tucker would be the sixth generation of lawyers and judges in the family. Virginia House Of Delegates
The Virginia House of Delegates is one of the two parts of the Virginia General Assembly, the other being the Senate of Virginia. It has 100 members elected for terms of two years; unlike most states, these elections take place during odd-numbered years. The House is presided over by the Speaker of the House, who is elected from among the House membership by the Delegates. The Speaker is usually a member of the majority party and, as Speaker, becomes the most powerful member of the House. The House shares legislative power with the Senate of Virginia, the upper house of the Virginia General Assembly. FitzGerald Bemiss, also known as Gerry Bemiss, (October 2, 1922 – February 7, 2011) was an American businessman and philanthropist who also served in the Virginia General Assembly, representing the City of Richmond, Virginia, in first the House of Delegates, and later the Senate. Early and family life FitzGerald Bemiss was born on October 2, 1922, in Richmond, Virginia to Samuel Merrifield Bemiss and Dorothy FitzGerald Bemiss. He had one sister Cynthia Bemiss Stuart) and was educated at St. Christopher's School and the Woodberry Forest School. He attended the University of Virginia for two years, leaving to volunteer for military service after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
