The Strokes
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City. Formed in 1998, the band is composed of lead singer and songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They were a leading group of the early-2000s indie rock revival. The release of their EP '' The Modern Age'' in early 2001 sparked a bidding war among major labels, with the band eventually signing to RCA Records. That summer, they released their debut album, ''Is This It'', to critical acclaim and strong sales. It has since appeared on numerous "best album" lists. Ryan Adams
David Ryan Adams (born November 5, 1974) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, artist, and poet. He has released 23 albums, as well as three studio albums as a former member of alt-country band Whiskeytown. In 2000, Adams left Whiskeytown and released his debut solo album, ''Heartbreaker'', to critical acclaim. The album was nominated for the Shortlist Music Prize. The following year, his profile increased with the release of the UK certified-gold ''Gold'', which included the single, "New York, New York". Julian Fernando Casablancas (born August 23, 1978) is an American singer, musician and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of Rock music, rock band The Strokes, with whom he has released six studio albums since their founding in 1998. Casablancas released a solo album, ''Phrazes for the Young'', in 2009. That same year, he founded the Independent record label, independent record label Cult Records, which has represented artists such as The Growlers, Rey Pila and Karen O. Zerobridge was a New York-based indie alternative/rock band from 2001–2017 founded by brothers Mubashir (songwriter, lead singer, and rhythm guitarist) and Mohsin (drums) Mohi-ud-Din. The band draws its name from the actual bridge in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir. Greg Eckelman was added to the lineup on bass in 2004. Between 2002-2011, the band went through a series of lineup changes including: Kristin Fayne Mulroy (bass, 2002-2003), Kenji Shinigawa (lead guitar, 2004), Jay Barclay (lead guitar, 2007-2009), and Paolo Arao (keyboards, 2008-2010).
