J. K. Warrick
J. K. Warrick (born 1945) is a minister and General Superintendent (Church of the Nazarene), general superintendent emeritus in the Church of the Nazarene. Following nearly 38 years of pastoral ministry, Warrick was elected to the Board of General Superintendents by the 26th General Assembly held in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2005. He served as pastor of churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, and Kansas. When elected general superintendent, he had served for nearly 12 years as pastor of College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. He attended Bethany Nazarene College, later graduating with a Th.B. from Trinity College of the Bible in Newburgh, IN. At the time of his election, he was pursuing a master’s degree from Wesley Biblical Seminary. In 1994 Southern Nazarene University honored him with a doctor of divinity. MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a private Nazarene (evangelical Christian) university in Olathe, Kansas in the Kansas City metropolitan area. It was established in 1966. History Mid-America Nazarene College (MANC) was founded in 1966. In 1996 Mid-America Nazarene College formally changed its name to MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU). Campus The campus is located at 2030 East College Way, Olathe, Kansas, United States. The land was donated by Robert R. Osborne, a retired banker. Proposed sites for the college also included Wichita, Topeka, and Ottawa, Kansas. Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) is a private Christian university in Mount Vernon, Ohio, with satellite locations in the surrounding area. It was founded in 1968 by the Church of the Nazarene and offers a variety of Bachelor's and Master's degrees to both traditional and non-traditional students. Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is a private Nazarene university in Bethany, Oklahoma. History The history of the institution is one of various mergers and, therefore, one of differing institutions. While SNU claims its founding date as 1899, that founding date refers to an institution that merged with what is now SNU: Texas Holiness University. As an Oklahoman institution, SNU dates back to 1906, with the founding of the Beulah Heights Academy and Bible School. The roots of the original Southern Nazarene University are primarily in an orphanage of downtown Oklahoma City, founded by Miss Mattie Mallory.
