J. J. Dielman
Jeffrey Joseph "J. J." Dielman (born December 16, 1993) is a former American football Guard (gridiron football), guard. He played college football at Utah Utes football, Utah, and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. High school career Dielman played for Desert Vista High School in Arizona, and was named First-team all-state, as well as all-section III South and all-city. Desert Vista High was the 2011 Arizona D1 state champion. He was a team captain for his high school football team. College career Deilman played college football for the Utah Utes football, Utah Utes, where he was a three-year starter on the offensive line, starting in 31 consecutive games. He played right tackle his first three seasons (26 games) before moving to the center position as a senior (5 games). Guard (gridiron Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming defensive line, linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through.
