J. J. Birden
LaJourdain J. Birden Sr. (born June 16, 1965) is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 8th round of the 1988 NFL Draft. A now retired wide receiver, Birden graduated from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and the University of Oregon. He played in 9 NFL seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons from 1988 to 1996. College career Weighing just 140 pounds by the end of his senior high school season, Birden was considered too small to be an NCAA receiver and was not offered any football scholarships. His speed did earn him several track-and-field scholarship offers though, and he selected Oregon because it was the only one in which he would be allowed to play football as well. Martin Edward Schottenheimer (; September 23, 1943 – February 8, 2021) was an American football linebacker and coach who served as a head coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1984 to 2006. He was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs for 10 seasons, the Cleveland Browns and the San Diego Chargers for five each, and the Washington Redskins for one. Eighth in career wins at 205 and seventh in regular season wins at 200, Schottenheimer has the most wins of an NFL head coach to not win a championship. After coaching in the NFL, he won a 2011 championship in his one season with the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League (UFL).
