J.C. Krieger
Johan Cornelius Krieger (1683–1755) was a Danish architect and landscape architect, who from the 1720s served as both the country's chief architect, and head of the royal gardens. Krieger oversaw the construction of Fredensborg Palace and its gardens, as well as an expansion of Frydenlund Manor. He also designed or redeveloped the gardens of Frederiksberg Palace (now Frederiksberg Park), Clausholm Castle, Rosenborg Castle, Hirschholm Palace, and Odense Palace. Following the Copenhagen Fire of 1728, he was involved in the plan to reconstruct the city using brick-faced houses, establishing by March 1729 a brick works and, in partnership with Vice Admiral Ulrich Kaas, a lime kiln and a sawmill in Christianshavn He was an exponent of the baroque architecture and was influenced by the French formal garden style of André Le Nôtre. Ulrich Kaas (1677 - 1746)
Ulrich Jørgensen Kaas (4 October 1677 – 28 December 1746) was a member of the old noble family of Mur Kaas, and an officer in the Dano-Norwegian navy. He rose to the rank of rear admiral in the Great Northern War and later to full admiral in 1732. Following a power struggle within the Danish admiralty, he left the naval service for a senior post in Bergen. Lejre Municipality is a municipality in Region Zealand. Lindholm is a manor house and estate located in Lejre Municipality, between Roskilde and Yølløse, some 30 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It has been owned by members of the von Plassen family since 1728 and is now part of the Londholm-Selsø estate.. André Le Nôtre (; 12 March 1613 – 15 September 1700), originally rendered as André Le Nostre, was a French landscape architect and the principal gardener of King Louis XIV of France. He was the landscape architect who designed the gardens of the Palace of Versailles; his work represents the height of the French formal garden style, or ''jardin à la française''. The Copenhagen Fire of 1728 was the largest fire in the history of Copenhagen, Denmark. It began on the evening of 20 October 1728 and continued to burn until the morning of 23 October. It destroyed approximately 28% of the city (measured by counting the number of destroyed lots from the cadastre) and left 20% of the population homeless. The reconstruction lasted until 1737. No less than 47% of the section of the city, which dates back to the Middle Ages, was completely lost, and along with the Copenhagen Fire of 1795, it is the main reason that few traces of medieval Copenhagen can be found in the modern city. Although the number of dead and wounded was relatively low compared to the extent of the fire, the cultural losses were huge.
