Jonathan "J-Shin" Shinoster is a contemporary R&B/gospel singer born in Liberty City, Florida, who was signed to Slip-n-Slide Records/Atlantic Records and is best known for his hit single "One Night Stand" with LaTocha Scott of Xscape. Career He signed with Slip-n-Slide Records in 1999 after appearing on Trick Daddy's single "Hold On." He released his debut album ''My Soul, My Life'' the following year, which peaked at #71 on the Billboard 200 and #20 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. It featured the hit R&B single "One Night Stand" with Xscape member LaTocha Scott which peaked at #18 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart. A follow-up single "Treat U Better" garnered considerable airplay on BET but failed to chart. Xscape (group)
Xscape is an American girl group from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1991 by Kandi Burruss, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, LaTocha Scott, Tamera Coggins-Wynn, and Tamika Scott. The following year Coggins-Wynn left the group and Xscape became a quartet. They were discovered by Jermaine Dupri who signed the group to his So So Def label. The group released their debut album ''Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha'' in 1993, which spawned two of their biggest hits "Just Kickin' It" and "Understanding". The album was certified Platinum on February 1, 1994. Xscape has sold more than 7 million records worldwide. The group went on to release their second album, '' Off the Hook'' in 1995 and was certified Platinum on November 16, 1995. Slip-N-Slide Records is an American record label, founded in 1994 by Ted Lucas. History Ted Lucas founded the label in 1994. Slip-n-Slide signed local rapper Trick Daddy Dollars in its early years; he debuted in 1997 with the locally popular album ''Based on a True Story'' and broke into mainstream success the next year with his second album '' www.thug.com'', having dropped "Dollars" from his stage name. The album included hit single "Nann Nigga", featuring the new rapper Trina. Maurice Samuel Young (born September 27, 1974), better known by his stage name Trick Daddy, is an American rapper from Miami's Liberty City (Miami), Liberty City. LaTocha Reney Scott (born October 2, 1973) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. She is best known as a member of the multi-platinum selling R&B group Xscape, who rose to popularity in the 1990s. Biography Scott was born in Atlanta, Georgia to her father, Rev.
