Ivano-Frankivsk Municipality
Ivano-Frankivsk Municipality is a former administrative subdivision of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast located within the Tysmenytsia Raion and completely surrounded by that raion. It consisted of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, the administrative center of the oblast, and a number of rural localities. Population: . Overview The municipality was created before the World War II in 1940 after reorganization of the Stanisławów Voivodeship. In 1962 the official name of it changed from Stanislav to Ivano-Frankivsk after the administrative center. It was located within the Tysmenytsia District and consists of one city municipality and five rural ones. Through the municipality flow two major rivers of the region Bystrytsias of Solotvyn and Nadvirna and one smaller one Vorona. Stryi ( uk, Стрий, ; pl, Stryj) is a city located on the left bank of the river Stryi in Lviv Oblast (region) of western Ukraine 65 km to the south of Lviv (in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains). Tysmenytsia ( uk, Ти́смениця, translit=Tysmenycia; pl, Tyśmienica) is a city in Ivano-Frankivsk Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of western Ukraine. Independence Street ( uk, Вулиця Незалежності, vulytsia Nezalezhnosti) is considered the central street of Ivano-Frankivsk. It runs from west to east and passes the original city's center 250–300 meters south from it. Starting at the west side of the Viche Maidan what is known as the Halych Street Independence Street makes its way along the old Tysmenytsia road east to Bystrytsia river, passing which it changes its name to Tysmenytsia Street running through the city's suburbs towards the city of Tysmenytsia. Ukrnafta is a Ukrainian petroleum, oil and natural gas extracting company, the largest producer of oil and gas in the country. Ukrnafta is also an operator of a gas filling station network in Ukraine nationwide. In 2006, the company conducted some 91% of oil, 27% of natural-gas condensate and 17% of gas extraction in the country.
