Ivana Španović
Ivana Vuleta (; sr-cyr, Ивана Вулета, , ; born 10 May 1990) is a Serbian long jumper, two-time World indoor champion, three times European indoor champion and reigning European champion. In 2013, Vuleta became the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a medal at the IAAF Outdoor World Championships. In 2018, she became the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a world senior gold medal at the IAAF Indoor World Championships. She is the Serbian record holder in the long jump, indoors and outdoors, and also she is the national indoor record holder in the 60 metres and in the pentathlon. Her coach is Goran Obradović and she is a member of the Vojvodina Athletic Club, based in Novi Sad. Track And Field
Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. Track and field is categorized under the umbrella sport of athletics, which also includes road running, cross country running and racewalking. The foot racing events, which include sprints, middle- and long-distance events, racewalking, and hurdling, are won by the athlete who completes it in the least time. 2013 World Championships In Athletics – Women's Long Jump
The women's long jump at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 10–11 August. Summary Two time defending champion, current Olympic champion and world leading Brittney Reese squeaked through qualifying in the last qualifying position. Her 6.57 tied with teammate Funmi Jimoh so she won her position by her second best jump (also 6.57 with Jimoh not having a second legal jump). Shara Proctor led three automatic qualifiers. The 2014 European Athletics Championships was held in Zürich, Switzerland, between 12 and 17 August 2014. It was the first time that Switzerland had hosted the European Athletics Championships since 1954. 2016 European Athletics Championships
The 2016 European Athletics Championships was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, between 6 and 10 July 2016. It was the first time the Netherlands hosted the event. Due to 2016 being an Olympic year, there was no racewalking and the marathon competition was replaced by half marathon. The Russian team did not participate due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, Yuliya Stepanova was individually cleared by the IAAF to compete as an independent athlete; she participated in the European championships under the flag of the European Athletic Association. 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the fifteenth edition of the international indoor track and field competition, organised by the IAAF. The event was held between 7–9 March 2014 at the Ergo Arena in Sopot, Poland. Preparation Host bidding The IAAF announced on 1 September 2011 that it had received bids from Poland and Croatia to host the championships. Later Zagreb, Croatia withdrew due to lack of funding. On 11 November 2011 at a Council meeting in Monaco, the IAAF announced that Sopot, as the only remaining bidder, would host the championships. Budapest, Hungary had shown interest but eventually did not bid. Venue The Championships were held at the Ergo Arena, opened in 2010, on the border of the cities of Sopot and Gdańsk. 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's Long Jump
The women's long jump at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on March 18, 2016. On paper, Brittney Reese came into this meet with a 20 cm better personal best. But the personal best came before a 2014 injury. Her 2015 season was still hampered by recovery. Ivana Španović wasn't reading the paper and took the first round lead with a new indoor personal best 7.00, just short of her outdoor personal best of 7.02. Reese jumped 6.97 to assume second place but couldn't match that until her fifth round jump when she equalled it exactly. For a little over a minute, Reese held the lead based on the tie breaking second best jump. Španović broke that up by jumping a new personal best and National Record of 7.07. 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 16th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held between March 17 and 20, 2016 in Portland, Oregon, United States. The event did not feature Russia. Following a WADA investigation into widespread and institutional doping practices in Russian athletics, the IAAF provisionally suspended Russia's membership of the organisation in November 2015, effectively excluding the country both from hosting events and entering competitions.
