Ivan Scalfarotto
Ivan Scalfarotto (born 16 August 1965) is an Italian politician and activist, committed to LGBT rights. A member of the Italian Parliament, he is a Deputy Minister at the Italian Ministry of Interior. Previously a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Constitutional Reforms (2014–2016), the Ministry of Economic development (2016–2018) where he was in charge of international trade, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (2019–2021), in 2005 Scalfarotto ran to the become the national leader of The Union, the centre-left coalition, in the primary elections that were held to identify their candidate to lead the Italian Government. Between 2009 and 2013 he was a Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party. In the 2013 and 2018 general elections he was elected to the Italian Parliament ( Chamber of Deputies). Senate Of The Republic (Italy)
The Senate of the Republic ( it, Senato della Repubblica), or simply the Senate ( it, Senato), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Chamber of Deputies). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Pursuant to the Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the Italian Constitution, the Senate has 200 elective members, of which 196 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 4 from Italian citizens living abroad. Romano Antonio Prodi (; born 9 August 1939) is an Italian politician, economist, academic, senior civil servant, and business executive who served as the tenth president of the European Commission from 1999 to 2004. He served twice as Prime Minister of Italy, first from 18 May 1996 to 21 October 1998, and then from 17 May 2006 to 8 May 2008. 2020 Apulian Regional Election
The 2020 Apulian regional election took place in Apulia, Italy, on 20 and 21 September. It was originally scheduled to take place on May 31, 2020, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy. Electoral system The electoral law is established by the Regional Law n. 7/2015. The regional council is made up of 50 councilors, plus the president; The first 23 seats are divided at the district level and the remaining 27 at the level of the single regional constituency. The law provides for a single round, with list voting, the possibility of expressing two preferences of different gender within the chosen list, and voting for the candidate for president, on a single ballot. Walter Veltroni (; born 3 July 1955) is an Italian writer, film director, journalist, and politician, who served as the first leader of the Democratic Party within the centre-left opposition, until his resignation on 17 February 2009. Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio (born 13 March 1959) is an Italian politician, lawyer and journalist. Antonio Di Pietro (; born 2 October 1950) is an Italian politician, lawyer and magistrate. He was a minister in government of Romano Prodi, a Senator, and a Member of the European Parliament.
