Ivan Langer
Ivan Langer (born 1 January 1967 in Olomouc) is a former Czech politician. He has been a member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) since 1991. From 1996 to 2010 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies (in 1996-2006 a vice-chairman), serving as Minister of Informatics and Minister of the Interior. Early life and education Langer graduated from the Medical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc and the Law Faculty at Charles University in Prague. Political career In 1989 he was a student at Palacky University, and a member of the State Student Strike Committee. He joined ODS in 1991. From 1996 to 2010 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, and from 1998 to 2006 he was a vice-chairman of the Chamber. From 2006 to 2007 he was the Minister of Informatics, and from 2006 to 2009 he was the Minister of the Interior. Mirek Topolánek
Mirek Topolánek (, born 15 May 1956) is a Czech politician and business manager who served as the prime minister of the Czech Republic from 2006 to 2009 and the leader of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) from 2002 to 2010. Between 2006 and 2009, Topolánek was the member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) and senator from Ostrava from 1996 until 2004. After leaving the politics in 2010, Topolánek has been active in the electric power industry. On 24 March 2009, Topolánek resigned as prime minister after he lost a no-confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies. He remained in office until 8 May, at which point Jan Fischer took office as an independent prime minister leading an interim caretaker government. In November 2017, Topolánek announced his bid for the presidency in the 2018 election but received only 4% and came sixth in the election. CEVRO Institute
The CEVRO Institute ( cz, link=no, CEVRO Institut) is a private university in Prague, Czech Republic, established in 2005 by CEVRO, a think-tank affiliated with the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). History The CEVRO Institute was established on 15 September 2005 by CEVRO, a think tank created in 1999 by ODS politician Ivan Langer. The institute's main goal is to provide cross-disciplinary education in the area of social sciences: law, public administration, economics, business, political science, international relations and security. The university's opening ceremony on 1 November 2006 was attended by Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek. The central facility of the CEVRO Institute is a historic building in the centre of Prague.
