Ivan Jurić (handballer)
Ivan Jurić (; born 25 August 1975) is a Croatian professional football manager and former player who is the manager of club Torino. Jurić spent most of his playing career, as a midfielder, and his entire managing career in Italy. Playing career Club career A versatile and technically skilled midfielder or winger, Jurić started his career with Hajduk Split, where he played from 1993 to 1997. He then moved to Spain to join Sevilla FC, where he played from 1997 to 2001, except for a short loan to Albacete in 2000. After a short time back in Croatia with Šibenik, he moved in Italy in 2001 to join Serie B team Crotone, and then moved to Genoa in 2006, following his mentor Gian Piero Gasperini, his former head coach at Crotone. Since then, he established himself as a fan favourite, being protagonist of the ''rossoblu'''s return to Serie A, and then being appointed vice-captain for the team. The 2015–16 Serie B (known as the Serie B ConTe.it for sponsorship reasons) was the 84th season since its establishment in 1929. A total of 22 teams contested the league: 16 returning from the 2014–15 season, 4 promoted from Lega Pro, and 2 relegated from Serie A. Vacancies created by the bankruptcy of Serie A-relegated Parma and the demotion of Catania to Lega Pro due to match fixing allowed Brescia to remain in the league despite being relegated. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification
Qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. Each confederation — the AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe) — was allocated a certain number of the 32 places at the tournament. Gian Piero Gasperini
Gian Piero Gasperini (born 26 January 1958) is an Italian football manager and former player, who is currently the manager of Italian side Atalanta. Playing career Gasperini entered the Juventus youth system at the age of 9; during his stay at the youth system, he won an ''Allievi Nazionali'' championship and was in the ''Primavera'' squad, which included Paolo Rossi and Sergio Brio, that placed runner-up in 1976 behind Lazio. After having played a handful of Coppa Italia matches with the first team, he was loaned to Reggiana and then sold to Serie B club Palermo in 1978. He stayed five seasons at Palermo, all in Serie B, but reached a Coppa Italia final in 1979, then lost to Juventus. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
