''Ivan Denisovich'', also in English speaking regions titled as ''100 Minutes'' (russian: Иван Денисович) is a 2021 Russian historical war drama film directed by Gleb Panfilov, a film adaptation based on the story by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's ''One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich''. The film premiered at the 2021 Locarno International Film Festival. It was theatrically released on September 23, 2021 by Central Partnership. Plot Soldier Ivan Denisovich Shukhov was taken prisoner by the Germans, and after leaving it, he ended up in his homeland as a prisoner and he began to build a giant space industry plant. Gleb Anatolyevich Panfilov (russian: Глеб Анатольевич Панфилов, link=no; born 21 May 1934 in Magnitogorsk) is an internationally acclaimed Russian film director noted for a string of mostly historical films starring his wife, Inna Churikova. Biography In the 1980s Panfilov, a chemist by profession, moved to theatre directing, but also found time to adapt for the screen Alexander Vampilov's play ''Valentina'' (1981), as well as Maxim Gorky's '' Vassa Zheleznova'' (1983) and ''Mother'' Mother (1990 film), (1989). The Golden Eagle Award (russian: link=no, премия Золотой Орёл) is an award given by the National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry, directors, actors, and writers. Modelled after the American Golden Globe Awards, the formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in Russia, alongside the Nika Award.
