Ivan Demidov
Ivan Demidov (russian: Ива́н Деми́дов, ; born 1981) is a professional poker player from Moscow, Russia. Demidov is one of the original "November Nine", having made the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 2008. He reached the heads-up stage along with Peter Eastgate. He lost to Eastgate and took second place for $5,809,595. Demidov stated that he would share his winnings with a Russian financial supporter who took him to some previous tournaments, with the backer getting more than Demidov. In October 2008, he reached the final table of the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event in London, finishing in third place. In doing so, he became the first player in history to reach the final table of both WSOP Main Events in the same year. This feat was matched in 2009 by James Akenhead and Antoine Saout. 2008 World Series Of Poker
The 2008 World Series of Poker was the 39th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). Held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, the series began on May 30th, 2008, and featured 55 poker championships in several variants. All events but the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Texas hold 'em Main Event, the most prestigious of the WSOP events, ended by July 15th. As has been the WSOP custom since 1976, each of the event winners received a championship bracelet in addition to that event's prize money, which (after the casino's rake) ranged from $87,929 to $9,119,517. Antoine Saout
Antoine Saout (born 26 June 1984) is a French professional poker player who made the November Nine in the 2009 World Series of Poker finishing 3rd. In April 2007, Antoine Saout began playing poker online under the pseudonym "tonio292" while studying at the National School of Information Technology. He turned full-time professional a year and a half later. In late 2008, Saout switched his focus to live poker qualifying for several tournaments including the World Series of Poker through Everest Poker. In July 2009, Saout reached the final table in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. The House of Demidov (russian: Деми́довы) also Demidoff, was a prominent Russian noble family during the 18th and 19th centuries. Originating in the city of Tula in the 17th century, the Demidovs found success through metal products, and were entered into the European nobility by Peter the Great. A poker tournament is a tournament where players compete by playing poker. It can feature as few as two players playing on a single table (called a "heads up poker, heads-up" tournament), and as many as tens of thousands of players playing on thousands of tables. He is best known for being a member of the November Nine in 2009.
