Iurie Muntean
Iurie Muntean (born 13 May 1972) is a Moldovans, Moldovan politician, who served as a deputy Ministry of Economy (Moldova), Minister of Economy and Trade (2008–2009) and member of the Parliament of Moldova (2009–2014). Biography He graduated from Moldova State University in 1994. Iurie Muntean worked as a jurist for the Ministry of Economy (Moldova), Ministry of Economy (July 1994–June 1996), ARIA (1996–2002, August 2006–April 2007), the office of lawyers „Justil Group”. Then he served as a deputy of Igor Dodon. In March 2001, Iurie Muntean participated with journalists Constantin Tănase (journalist), Constantin Tănase, Aneta Grosu, and the folk music singer Maria Sarabaş in a Romanian-Moldovan delegation to Atlanta, where Iurie Muntean danced "Hora Unirii", which is contrary to his communist ideology. Moldovan Parliament
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is the supreme representative body of the Republic of Moldova, the only state legislative authority, being a unicameral structure composed of 101 elected MPs on lists, for a period of 4 years. Parliament is elected by universal vote, equal directly, secret and freely expressed. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is elected by the Parliament, with a minimum of 52 votes. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, on a proposal of the Central Electoral Commission, decides to validate or invalidate the mandate of the Member of Parliament. "Hora Unirii" () is a poem by Vasile Alecsandri, published in 1856. The music of the song was composed by . The song is sung and danced especially on January 24, the anniversary of the day in which the Romanian United Principalities were formally united in 1859. It was, in fact, considered the "unofficial anthem" of the unification of the Romanian principalities and its supporters in 1859. Mark Tkachuk (russian: Марк Евге́ньевич Ткачук, born 26 September 1966) is a Moldovan politician, historian, archaeologist and anthropologist, former member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Moldovan (Romanian alphabet, Latin alphabet: ''limba moldovenească''; Moldovan Cyrillic alphabet: лимба молдовеняскэ), also known historically as Moldavian, is one of the two local names of the Romanian language in Moldova. Moldovenism
Moldovenism is a political term used to refer to the support and promotion of the Moldovan identity and Moldovan culture primarily by the opponents of such ideas. Some of its supporters ascribe this identity to the medieval Principality of Moldavia. Others, in order to explain the current differences between Romanian-speaking inhabitants of the two banks of the Prut River, ascribe it to the long incorporation of Bessarabia in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. The opponents, on the contrary, claim that Moldovans and Romanians are a single ethnic group and that the Moldovan identity was artificially created by the USSR. Supporters of Moldovan identity contend that the people of Moldavia historically self-identified as "Moldavian" before the notion of "Romanian" became widespread.
