Itzhak Ilan
Itzhak Ilan or Yitzhak Ilan ( he, יצחק אילן 28 July 1956 – 16 October 2020), served in the Israel Security Agency (a.k.a. ISA, Shin-Bet, Shabak) during the years 1982–2012, and served during his last position as the Deputy Director of the ISA during the years 2010–2011. Biography Itzhak Ilan was born in the town of Surami in central Georgia on 28 July 1956. In the summer of 1973, Itzhak graduated cum laude (with excellence) from the physics and mathematics engineers High School in Tbilisi, and immediately thereafter, on August 17, 1973, immigrated to Israel with his family and lived in Jerusalem. During the years 1976–1980, Itzhak served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in the anti-aircraft division of the Israeli Air Force. His last position in the IDF was as a Commander of the Anti-aircraft Artillery Battery Division of the Air Force, and he reached the rank of Lieutenant. Surami
Surami ( ka, სურამი) is a small town ('' daba'') in Georgia’s Shida Kartli region with the population of 7,492. It is a popular mountain climatic resort and a home to a medieval fortress. Elhanan Tannenbaum
Elhanan Tannenbaum, ( he, אלחנן טננבוים, born 12 August 1946) is an Israeli colonel (res.), who was kidnapped in 2000 and held for more than three years by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. He was released in a prisoner exchange, together with the bodies of several Israeli soldiers, for 435 Arab prisoners held by Israel. After his release from Hezbollah, Tannenbaum was not charged for any crime in Israel, after a plea bargain. Early life Elhanan Tannenbaum was born in Poland, the son of Holocaust survivors.
