It represents the country in international 3x3 (3 against 3) basketball competitions. FIBA 3x3 World Championships
The FIBA 3x3 World Cup is a 3x3 basketball tournament for national teams organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The debut of the tournament then named as the FIBA 3x3 World Championship was held in August 2012 in Athens, Greece. The current champions are Serbia in the men's division and France in the women's division. There are two events in the tournament; one for men and another for women. In the first edition, there was a mixed event where each team was composed of 2 men and 2 women. FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships
The FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup had its inaugural tournament in 2014 in Bucharest, Romania. There are two events in the championship, one men's event and one women's event. Each team has four players (three on court and one on the bench). The match is played on a half court and every rule applies as well as a 12-second shot clock and clearance needed on a new possession. The Italian Basketball Federation ( it, Federazione Italiana Pallacanestro; FIP) is the governing body of basketball in Italy. It is based in Rome. The Italy men's national basketball team ( it, Nazionale di pallacanestro dell'Italia) represents Italy in international basketball tournaments. They are administered by the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP). Italy has qualified for 38 EuroBasket tournaments, winning two gold medals ( 1983, 1999), four silver medals ( 1937, 1946, 1991, 1997), and four bronze medals (1971, 1975, 1985, 2003) as achievements. The Italy women's national 3x3 team is a national basketball team of Italy, administered by the Federazione Italiana Pallacanestro. It represents the country in international women's 3x3 (3 against 3) basketball competitions. They won the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup – Women's tournament, their first international title and first ever victory of an Italian team in a FIBA sanctioned tournament.
