The Italian Hockey League Women, previously called the Serie A during 1990 to 2017, is the top level of women's ice hockey in Italy. It was founded in 1990 by the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio. The EVB Eagles Südtirol are the most successful team in league history, having won eleven Italian Championships. Serie B (women's Ice Hockey League)
The Serie B (), currently named Serie Balkrishna Industries, BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. It has been operating for over ninety years since the 1929–30 Serie B, 1929–30 season. It had been organized by Lega Nazionale Professionisti, Lega Calcio until 2010, when the Lega Serie B was created for the 2010–11 season. Common nicknames for the league are ''campionato cadetto'' and ''cadetteria'', since ''cadetto'' is the Italian name for junior or cadet. Alleghe Hockey Girls
Alleghe (Ladin: ''Àlie'') is a village and ''comune'' in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto. To the west Alleghe borders with Alleghe Lake, which was formed in 1771 by a landslide from the adjacent Mount Piz. Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio ( en, Olympic Ice Stadium) was built between 1952 and 1954, primarily as an open air Figure skating arena in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, to hold between seven and eight thousand spectators, with the possibility of making temporary arrangements to accommodate twelve to fifteen thousand for the period of the Olympics.
