It Must Be Love (1926 Film)
''It Must Be Love'' is a 1926 American silent comedy film directed by Alfred E. Green and starring Colleen Moore, Jean Hersholt and Malcolm McGregor. Plot Fernie Schmidt (Colleen Moore) lives with her parents in the rear of their delicatessen. The smells of the business - cheeses, sausages, garlic and pickled herrings - repulses Fernie, who dreams of removing herself from the environment and moving into a life with a more rarified. Her father, Pop Schmidt (Jean Hersholt) has plans for his daughter to marry Peter Halitovsky (Arthur Stone), a sausage salesman, but Fernie is repulsed by the idea. At a dance, Fernie meets Jack Dugan (Malcolm McGregor), who tells her that he is in stocks, a paper-counter, and she falls for him. Because of her rejection of her father's chosen candidate for matrimony, Pop puts Fernie out of the house. Fernie manages to find works as a counter girl in a department store. Bodil Rosing (born Bodil Frederikke Hammerich; December 27, 1877 December 31, 1941) was a Danish-American film actress in the silent and sound eras. Early years Bodil Hammerich was born in Copenhagen, the daughter of music dean Angel Hammerich and pianist Golla Hammerich (née Bodenhoff-Rosing). She studied acting at the Royal Danish Theatre in the 1890s. Career Rosing worked as a stage actress in Denmark, performing for three years with the Royal Danish Theatre. She had her stage debut in Henrik Christiernsson's comedy ''Gurli'' at the Dagmar Theatre in 1898. Her last role at the Dagmar Theatre was as Michelle in Camille'' in 1905. In 1904, she played Bianca in ''The Taming of the Shrew'' at the Casino Theatre. Dorothy Seastrom (born Dorothy Susan Seastrunk Corby; March 17, 1903 – January 31, 1930) was an American silent film actress. Early life and career Born in Texas, Seastrom got into acting after winning a beauty competition. Her family later relocated to Chicago. Her film career began in 1923 with the role of Eleanor Harmon in ''The Call of the Canyon'', directed by Victor Fleming. Later she acted under the direction of Cecil B. Demille. She signed a five-year contract with First National Pictures in September 1925. Seastrom was called the "Candy Kid" at First National due to her taffy colored hair. She appeared in ''The Perfect Flapper'' with Colleen Moore and '' Classified'' with Corinne Griffith. Seastrom barely avoided a potentially disfiguring accident during the filming of ''We Moderns'' (1925).
