''It Came from Canada'' is a series of compilation albums, released on Og Music in the 1980s, which featured music by independent, alternative and punk bands from Canada. Ray Condo
Ray Condo (May 16, 1950 – April 15, 2004), born Ray Tremblay, was a Canadian rockabilly singer, saxophonist, and guitarist. Biography Born Ray Tremblay in Hull, Quebec, Ray grew up in nearby Ottawa, Ontario, the third of five children. Ray's two brothers, William (Billy) and Robert were younger; his two sisters, Eileen and Maureen were older. Condo taught himself to play the guitar at 11 and by the time he was 16 he had co-written and released his first recording, 'If You Only Knew' with a band in the style of the British invasion called The Peasants. Ray attended an elite vocational fine art & design high school specifically established by the Ontario Ministry of Education for those showing exceptional talent in fine art and design. An intense and rigorous 4-year program, many who started never completed the course but Ray seemed to thrive in this environment. It was during this time that his sister Eileen passed on. The Hard Rock Miners are a Canadian rockabilly/hillbilly/country/folk band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. History In 1987, members of The Hard Rock Miners started out busking on the streets of Vancouver, particularly on trendy Robson Street in the city's Downtown West End. Their music could be best described as eclectic. As they moved to gigs at Vancouver venues, their instrumentation included acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, fiddle, washtub bass, washboard, tambourine, harmonica, and drums amongst others. "Blue Moon" is a popular song written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart in 1934 that has become a standard ballad. Early recordings included those by Connee Boswell and by Al Bowlly in 1935. Furnaceface was a Canadian punk indie rock band formed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which was active from 1989 to 2000. The group consisted of vocalist and guitarist Pat Banister, vocalist and bassist Slo' Tom Stewart, and drummer Dave Dudley. The Dik Van Dykes were a garage punk sextet based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada who first formed in 1985 and folded in 1989. They released two albums, ''Nobody Likes...The Dik Van Dykes'' (1987), and ''Waste Mor Vinyl'' (1989), on the Og Records label, preceded by a limited edition indie cassette, ''Live At the Gown and Gavel''... and countless compilation records such as the '' It Came from Canada'' series issued by OG Records (the Deja Voodoo guys). "2 + 2 = ?" is a single from The Bob Seger System on their debut album ''Ramblin' Gamblin' Man'', released in January 1968, on Capitol Records. It is an anti-Vietnam War song.
