''It's Christmas'' is the first studio Christmas album from Australian worship band Planetshakers. Planetshakers Ministries International and Venture3Media released the album on 29 November 2019. This album includes the Christmas releases of EPs ''Christmas Vol. 1'' (2017) and ''Christmas Vol. 2'' (2018). Planetshakers is a contemporary worship music band, a central part of Planetshakers Church in Melbourne, Australia. With over 30 albums, the band toured annually to the US, UK, Europe, South Africa, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand for some years, and has been nominated for several Dove Awards. History Formed in Adelaide, South Australia, for the first Planetshakers Conference at Paradise Community Church (now known as Influencers Church) in Adelaide in 1997, the band is now based in Melbourne, Victoria at Planetshakers Church, which is under the leadership of senior pastors Russell and Samantha Evans. O Holy Night
"O Holy Night" (original title: ) is a well-known sacred song for Christmas performance. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line (Midnight, Christian, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. The English version (with small changes to the initial melody) is by John Sullivan Dwight. The carol reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity's redemption. History In Roquemaure in France at the end of 1843, the church organ had recently been renovated. To celebrate the event, the parish priest persuaded poet Placide Cappeau, a native of the town, to write a Christmas poem. Soon afterwards, in that same year, Adolphe Adam composed the music.
