Isuzu Cup (Muay Thai)
The Isuzu Cup, also known as the Isuzu Tournament, or the Isuzu Cup Tournament is an 8-man Muay Thai tournament which takes place at Siam Omnoi Stadium in Samut Sakhon Province, Samut Sakhon every year. The tournament is organized by the Tri-Petch Group, owned by Isuzu Motors Ltd., and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand. It is well-known as one of the best and the longest-standing tournament still active in the sport of Muay Thai. History The first Isuzu tournament started in late 1990. The final took place in early 1991 where Rattananoi Tansarinkhan won a decision over Weesanusak Wor.Weerakul. Muay Thai ( th, มวยไทย, , ), sometimes referred to as Thai boxing, is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs", as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the late 20th to 21st century, when Westernised practitioners from Thailand began competing in kickboxing and mixed-rules matches as well as matches under muay Thai rules around the world. Superbon Singha Mawynn (born August 16, 1990), also known as Superbon Banchamek, is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer fighting out of Bangkok. He is currently signed to ONE Championship and is the inaugural and reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion. Superbon is the 2016 Kunlun Fight World Max Tournament Champion and 2018 Enfusion Live 76 8-Man Tournament Champion. As of September 2022, Combat Press ranks him as the #1 lightweight and #2 pound-for-pound kickboxer in the world, while Beyond Kick ranks him as the best lightweight and pound-for-pound kickboxer. Singmanee Kaewsamrit ( Thai: สิงห์มณี แก้วสัมฤทธิ์; born April 14, 1982) is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer. He is the former Rajadamnern Stadium Champion, WMC and WPMF Welterweight Champion. Muay Thai Fighter Of The Year Awards
Every given year in the Muay Thai world, with few exceptions, three different major "Fighter of the Year" awards are presented. The Sports Writers Association of Thailand in the first half of a year annually, the Sports Authority of Thailand decides the winner at the end of December, and the Siam Kela award is given in March annually. Anuwat Kaewsamrit
Anuwat Kaewsamrit (อนุวัฒน์ แก้วสัมฤทธิ์) born November 17, 1981 is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer and a former Lumpinee and four time Rajadamnern Stadium champion who used to fight out of Kaewsamrit Gym in Bangkok. Anuwat is known for his powerful hands, he's often referred to as “The Iron Hands of Siam”. Now, he is currently the head coach of Impax Academy Thailand.
