Istanbul (Morrissey Song)
"Istanbul" is a song by English singer Morrissey. It is the fourth track on his ''World Peace Is None of Your Business'' album and was released as the second single off the album via digital download on 20 May 2014, through Harvest and Capitol Records. Due to changes in global music consumption, the physical versions of the first four singles from this album were released together as one 10" vinyl. Joe Chiccarelli, the album's producer, stated that "Morrissey wanted to evoke the feeling of the hectic and chaotic streets of the city of Istanbul, so he used a cigar-box guitar, a lap steel guitar and a complicated and bussy drum rhythm, plus an actual gong as percussion, as well as vocal samples from a field recording taken in the streets of Istanbul by guitarist Jesse Tobias." Solomon Walker is an American bass guitarist. He played with Morrissey from 2007-2014 and appears on his albums ''Years of Refusal'' and ''World Peace Is None of Your Business''. Jesse Tobias
Jesse Tobias (born April 1, 1972) is an American guitarist who is the lead guitarist and co-writer for Morrissey since 2004. Tobias first gained fame during a brief tenure with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993, although he was replaced by Dave Navarro within a month after joining the band. Before he joined the Chili Peppers, he briefly played with the band ''Mother Tongue''. In 1995, Tobias joined the touring band for Alanis Morissette and from 1999–2005 was a member of the musical duo, Splendid. ''World Peace Is None of Your Business'' is the tenth solo studio album by English singer Morrissey, recorded in February 2014 and released on 15 July 2014. It was produced by Joe Chiccarelli and was distributed by record label Harvest. The album entered at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and peaked in the US at number 14 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Recording and cover ''World Peace Is None of Your Business'' was recorded at La Fabrique in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in France during February 2014 in a studio where Nick Cave had also worked. The album's cover features an image of Morrissey crouching down and offering a pen to a chocolate Labrador. Boz Boorer
Martin James "Boz" Boorer (born 19 May 1962 in Edgware, Middlesex, England) is an English guitarist and producer most known for his work founding the new wave rockabilly group the Polecats; and later for his work as a co-writer, guitarist and musical director with Morrissey, for which he is principally known today.
