Israel Men's National Goalball Team
The Israel men's national goalball team is the men's national team of Israel. Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. The team has taken part in international goalball competitions. Paralympic Games 1976 Toronto The 1976 Summer Paralympics were held in Toronto, Canada. The team was one of seven men's teams participating, and they finished fifth overall. 1980 Arnhem The team competed in the 1980 Summer Paralympics in Arnhem, Netherlands, where twelve men's teams took part. The team finished eighth. Members of the national team were Moshe Weiss, Uri Cohen, Moti Levy, Rafael Falach, Reuven Perach and Zohar Sharon. 1984 New York The team competed in the 1984 Summer Paralympics at Long Island, New York City, United States of America, where thirteen men's and five women's teams participated. World Goalball Championships
The IBSA Goalball World Championships is an international goalball tournament held every four years, since 1978, between Paralympic Games goalball tournaments. It is organised by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Subcommittee. A 'world' youth-level championships was created in 2005. It was not officially recognised in the Rules until the 2014–2017 version, and has no prescribed selection process unlike the World Championships or Paralympic Games tournaments. The International Blind Sports Federation () is a non-profit organisation founded 1981 in Paris, France. It was formerly known as the International Blind Sports Association. Zohar Sharon
Zohar Sharon ( he, זוהר שרון) is a blind Israeli golfer who won titles in Israel as well as Europe. Biography Zohar Sharon lost his sight in a chemical accident while serving in the Israel Defense Forces. Following the accident, Sharon began art therapy. He went on to study painting at the prestigious Avni Institute of Art in Tel Aviv and produced work of impressive quality. He was also a member of the national goalball team and participated in the Summer Paralympics. In 2003, he won the World Invitational blind golf tournament in Scotland.
