Principlist Political Groups In Iran
Principlism is an applied ethics approach to the examination of moral dilemmas that is based upon the application of certain ethical principles. This approach to ethical decision-making has been adopted enthusiastically in many different professional fields, largely because it sidesteps complex debates in moral philosophy at the theoretical level. Rather than engaging in abstract debate about the best or most appropriate approach at the normative level (e.g., virtue ethics, deontology or consequentialist ethics), principlism is purported to offer a practical method of dealing with real-world ethical dilemmas. Origins The origins of principlism, as we know it today, are to be found in two influential publications from the late 1970s in the United States. Zargham Sadeghi
Ali-Akbar Zargham (; February 24, 1911 – 22 December 1976) was a military officer and held several cabinet posts in the cabinets of Manouchehr Eghbal and Jafar Sharif-Emami. Education Ali-Akbar Zargham was born in Tehran in 1911. He attended Nezam High School, which was a military high school created by Reza Shah. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1934, and eventually finished his military studies at the War University (now known as the National Defense University) in 1940. He became a major general in 1958 under Eghbal's premiership. Public career In 1951, Zargham was assigned to the military governor's office and was appointed as the director-general of the Department of Sugar the following year. In 1955, he became the director of customs and two years later he was appointed as the first minister of customs and monopolies. Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi
Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi ( fa, مرضیه وحید دستجردی; born 11 February 1959) is an Iranian university professor and former parliamentarian, who was Iran's minister of health and medical education. She was part of the President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's inner circle. Vahid-Dastjerdi was the first female government minister in Iran since the 1979 Revolution. She is the third female government minister in Iranian history, after Farrokhroo Parsa and Mahnaz Afkhami. Early life and education Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi was born in Tehran on 11 February 1959. She is the daughter of Seifollah Vahid Dastjerdi, who was head of the Red Crescent Society of Iran. She entered Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1976 to study medicine, and qualified in nursing and obstetrics, obtaining a doctoral degree in 1988. Abbas Sheibani ( fa, عباس شیبانی; 12 November 1931 – 22 December 2022) was an Iranian physician, university professor and conservative and principlist politician. He was a founding member of Freedom Movement of Iran and member of City Council of Tehran. He also served as a member in both Parliament House and Assembly of Experts for Constitution. He was also Minister of Agriculture from 1979 to 1980 and President of University of Tehran from 1983 to 1984. The Principlists ( fa, اصولگرایان, Osul-Garāyān, ), also interchangeably known as the Iranian Conservatives Open access material licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License. and formerly referred to as the Right or Right-wing, are one of two main political camps inside post-revolutionary Iran, the other being Reformists.
