The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) (Urdu: بلدیہ عظمی اسلام آباد) is a municipal authority established under the ICT Local Government Act 2015 in Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. The corporation is headed by the Mayor and includes Chairman UCs and others. The MCI is responsible for various activities in the Capital Territory including waste management, environmental protections, and developmental works to name a few. The Metropolitan Corporation (MC) (Urdu: بلدیہ عظمی) is a municipal authority established under the local governments in Pakistan. According to Local Governments Act of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Metropolitan Corporation is a corporate entity with perpetual succession, a seal, and the authority to purchase, keep, and engage into any contract as well as to bring and receive legal actions. There are four Metropolitan Corporations in Pakistan and the Mayor is the head of each Metropolitan Corporation. Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat ( ur, محمد حمزہ شفقات; born 25 November 1981) is a Pakistani civil servant who serves in BPS-19 grade as the Provinical Information Secretary, Government of Balochistan. He belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service. Early life and education Hamza Shafqaat was born to Chaudhry Shafqaat Ahmed on November 25, 1981. He studied at Cadet College Hasan Abdal. He is alumnus of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) from where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical engineering. He holds MPhil in public policy from National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad. Ghazi Barotha Dam
Ghazi-Barotha Hydropower Project ( ur, غازى بروتھا) is a 1,450 MW run-of-the-river hydropower connected to the Indus River about west of Attock in Punjab and east of Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Construction of the project that began in 1995 consists of 5 generators each with a maximum power generation capacity of 290MW. Inauguration of the plant on 19 August 2003 by President General Pervez Musharraf also saw the commissioning of the first 2 of the 5 generators i.e. Unit 1 and Unit 2. The last generator was commissioned on 6 April 2004 and the project was completed by that December.
