Isetann Department Store, Inc. under the trade name Isetann Department Store and Supermarket (or simply Isetann) is one of the retail operators in Metro Manila, the Philippines. It was incorporated in 1980 by Chinese-Filipino entrepreneurs Jorge Go and John Gobenghuy to operate Isetann commercial shopping centers such as the lease of commercial spaces within the compound of their malls and department stores. Isetann has about 2,000 employees. It has five branches. History The roots of Isetann Department Store Inc. dates back on July 27, 1980 It was established in Carriedo, the former business district of Manila. Isetann was the revived version of 'Joymart' which was a smaller local supermarket chain, could not benefit much from economies of scale. Isetann Cinerama Recto (also known as Isetann Recto) is a shopping mall located at Recto Avenue, C.M. Recto Avenue corner Quezon Boulevard and Evangelista Street in Quiapo, Manila, Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. The mall sits in the portion of Estero de Quiapo which became Roman Super Cinerama in 1964 and burnt down in the late 1970s. After the fire, the Roman and Rojas families sold their burnt theater to Isetann. The mall opened in April 1988; Isetann resurrected the Cinerama name after the mall was built. Carriedo Station
Carriedo station is an elevated Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) station situated on Line 1. The station is located along the district boundary of Santa Cruz and Quiapo in Manila. It is one of the five stations in the line to have its concourse area below the platform, the other four being Baclaran, Central Terminal, Balintawak, and Roosevelt. Description Carriedo is the first station north of the Pasig River. It is the tenth station for trains headed to Roosevelt and the eleventh station for trains headed to Baclaran. It is named after Carriedo Street, which crosses below it. It is also the only station on the entire line with a canopy roof with the others being fully-roofed.
