Isen River
The Isen is a small river in southeast Upper Bavaria with a length of about 81 kilometres. The Isen rises near Lacken (in the municipality of Maitenbeth, district of Mühldorf am Inn) and flows through one of the most unspoiled regions of Old Bavaria (''Altbayern''): the Isen Valley. First seeing the light of day in the district of Mühldorf, the waters of the Isen flow initially into the district of Erding the villages of Isen, Lengdorf and Dorfen, and then return again to Mühldorf district coursing through ( Schwindegg, Ampfing, Mettenheim, Mühldorf am Inn and Erharting). Finally it flows into the Inn in the district of Altötting, municipality Winhöring, opposite Neuötting. The mouth of the Isen where it discharges into the Inn was moved further west to between the villages of Kronberg and Unterau in the municipality of Winhöring in the 19th century during the building of the München–Mühldorf–Simbach railway line. Goldach is a municipality in the ''Wahlkreis'' (constituency) of Rorschach in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. History Goldach is first mentioned in 789 as ''Goldaha'', though this comes from a later copy of the original document. In 847 it was mentioned as ''Coldaun''. Geography Goldach has an area, , of . Of this area, 33.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 12.7% is forested. Bundesautobahn 94
is an autobahn in southern Germany. When completed, it will connect Munich with Passau. Currently, only the parts Munich- Burghausen, and a small section in Malching have been built. Between Burghausen and Simbach am Inn, there is a 14 kilometer, two-lane section that is signed as Bundesstraße 12. Provisions for an upgrade to A 94 exist here. The route between Forstinning and Heldenstein was the subject of a decades-long debate. History In the original plans for the A 94, the section between Simbach and Passau was not planned. Instead, the A 94 was supposed to cross the Inn to the Austrian border, at which point it would continue through the Innviertel to Ried im Innkreis and connect to the Austrian A 8 towards Vienna. Special Area Of Conservation
A Special Area of Conservation (SAC) is defined in the European Union's Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), also known as the ''Directive on the Conservation of Natural Habitats and of Wild Fauna and Flora''. They are to protect the 220 habitats and approximately 1,000 species listed in annex I and II of the directive which are considered to be of European interest following criteria given in the directive. They must be chosen from the Sites of Community Importance by the member states and designated SAC by an act assuring the conservation measures of the natural habitat. Mühldorf–Simbach Am Inn Railway
The Mühldorf–Simbach am Inn railway is a 39 km long, single-tracked, unelectrified main line in Bavaria in southern Germany. Leaving Mühldorf station it runs in an east-west direction to the German-Austrian state border, where it joins the Innviertel Railway. Until 1969 there was also a junction here with the railway to Pocking. The line is the shortest link between Munich and Vienna, but has losts its importance over the years to the Munich–Salzburg–Linz line. An industrial siding to the „Inntal“ industrial estate branches off at the eastern end of Töging (Inn) station. Until the mid-1990s it has served the United Aluminium Works ( Vereinigte Aluminiumwerke or VAW) in Töging. Currently the firm of Aleris Recycling uses it 3 times per week.
