Kurashiki
is a historic city located in western Okayama Prefecture, Japan, sitting on the Takahashi River, on the coast of the Inland Sea. As of March 31, 2017, the city has an estimated population of 483,576 and a population density of 1,400 persons per km². The total area is 355.63 km². History The modern city of Kurashiki was founded on April 1, 1928. Previously, it was the site of clashes between the Taira and Minamoto clans during the Heian period. Lu Zhishen
Lu Zhishen is a fictional character in '' Water Margin'', one of the four great classical novels in Chinese literature. He is the main character in the first segment of the novel, which spans about six chapters. Nicknamed "Flowery Monk", he ranks 13th among the 36 Heavenly Spirits, the first third of the 108 Stars of Destiny. One folk tale derived from the novel says he is a sworn brother of the martial artist Zhou Tong, who purportedly trained the Song dynasty general Yue Fei in archery., footnote #31. Hōzōin In'ei
was a bhikkhu, Buddhist monk and sōhei, abbot of Hōzōin temple, and guardian of all the temples of Nara Prefecture, Nara. He is founded a school of Sōjutsu called Hōzōin-ryū in 1560s. In'ei was born in the first year of Daiei (1521) as the second son of Nakamikado Tajima Inei who was a warrior monk of the Kōfuku-ji. In'ei was a monk of Kōfuku-ji Temple in Nara, Nara, Nara, Japan. Akō Rōshi (1979 TV Series)
is a Japanese television jidaigeki or period drama that was broadcast in 1979. It is based on Jirō Osaragi's novel of the same title. It depicts the story of the revenge of the forty-seven rōnin of Ako against Lord Kira from Hotta Hayato's point of view. Kaneto Shindo was in charge of the script for several episodes. Plot Set in the eighteenth century, during the reign of the fifth Tokugawa shōgun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. Akō-han is demolished by the Tokugawa shogunate. Made in two seasons of 13 episodes each by Nippon Television it was shown in Japan in 1973 and 1974 as ''Suikoden'' (). The novel details the trials and tribulations of 108 outlaws during the Song Dynasty. This adaptation follows Lin Chung (Atsuo Nakamura) and his clashes with the local government official Kao Chiu (Kei Satō). For an English-language version, it was adapted by David Weir without translations, using only brief plot synopses. The dubbed version, narrated by Burt Kwouk, was shown by the BBC from 1976 to 1978.
