Isaiah Morgan
Isaiah "Ike" Morgan (April 7, 1897 – May 11, 1966) was an American jazz trumpeter. Morgan was born in Bertrandville, Louisiana, into a musical family; he was the brother of Al Morgan, Sam Morgan, and Andrew Morgan. He played in Plaquemines Parish in the early 1910s and then moved to New Orleans. He led his brothers in the Young Morgan Band from 1922, which was later led by Sam Morgan; this ensemble recorded for Columbia Records . Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne.
