Isabel Cueto
Isabel Cueto (born 3 December 1968) is a retired professional tennis player from Germany. Her career-high ranking was No. 20, which she achieved in 1989. Early life Isabel Cueto was born in Kehl to her father, Toni, an electrical engineer who had immigrated from Bolivia, and her mother, Jutta, a German. She grew up in Aspach and attended school in Backnang. Career In 1984, Cueto became the youngest German national champion, winning the final against Elke Renz. She also won the German championship in 1986 and 1987. Cueto won a total of six titles on the main WTA Tour over the course of her career; five in singles, one in doubles. She also won four titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. She progressed to the third round at the French Open (1985, 1990) and the US Open (1987, 1988), her best finishes at Grand Slam events. Kehl
Kehl (; gsw, label= Low Alemannic German, Low Alemannic, Kaal) is a town in southwestern Germany in the Ortenaukreis, Baden-Württemberg. Barbara Paulus
Barbara Paulus (born 1 September 1970) is a former professional top-ten tennis player from Austria. She began playing on the WTA Tour in 1986 and retired in 2001. During her career, she won a total of seven WTA tournaments (six singles titles, one doubles title). Paulus competed for the Austria Fed Cup team on 21 occasions in singles and doubles, winning nine of her 22 matches. The Internazionali Femminili di Palermo, also known as the Palermo Ladies Open, is a women's tennis tournament in Palermo, Italy that is played on outdoor clay courts at the Country Time Club. The first two editions were part of the Satellite Circuit, but since 1990 it has been part of the WTA Tour. The tournament was categorized as either a WTA Tier IV or Tier V event from 1990 to 2008 and became an International Tournament in 2009. In 2014, the license for the event was sold to Kuala Lumpur's Malaysian Open for 6 years (contract for 3 years with an option for additional three). Barcelona WTA Tournament
The Barcelona Ladies Open was a tennis tournament for women held in Barcelona in Catalonia (Spain) and was played on outdoor clay courts. It was an International-level tournament on the WTA Tour with total prize money of $220,000. The tournament began in November 2003 as a $10,000 challenger event on the ITF Women's Circuit. Prize money was increased to $25,000 the following year; in 2005, the event was moved to October with the prize money increasing to $75,000. In 2007, the tournament was upgraded to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, becoming a Tier IV played in June, and remained in this classification through 2008. Since 2009, the event has been held in April. In 2013 the event was cancelled due to financial reasons and replaced on the tour by the Nuremberg Cup in Nuremberg, Germany, held the week before Roland Garros. Katerina Maleeva
Katerina Georgieva Maleeva ( bg, Катерина Георгиева Малеева; born 7 May 1969) is a former top 10 Bulgarian tennis player. She won eleven singles and two doubles WTA Tour titles. Her best position in the WTA rankings was No. 6 in 1990. Biography Born in Sofia, Maleeva is the second oldest of the three children of Georgi Maleev and Yuliya Berberyan. Her mother came from an Armenian family, which found refuge in Bulgaria after the 1896 Armenian massacres in the Ottoman Empire, and was the best Bulgarian tennis player in the 1960s. After she retired from professional tennis in the 1970s, Berberyan started a coaching career.
