Irvine Novaquatics
Novaquatics (also known as Nova) is a swim team in Irvine, California. They are a nonprofit organization that receives their funding through membership dues, fundraising events and sponsorships. They are a member of the Orange Committee within Southern California Swimming (SCS); this is a subdivision of USA Swimming. Irvine Novaqutics is part of Southern California Swimming (SCS). Currently, they are one of the largest swim teams in Southern California. They have consistently won championship meets such as Spring Junior Olympics, Summer Junior Olympics, Winter Age Group Championships, Pacific Swimming's annual Speedo Far Western National Age Group Short Course Championships, and the June Invites as well as many other major events. As of the end of 2006, Novaquatics was the #3 swim team program in the United States by USA Swimming. The club also has locations in Fountain Valley and also Aliso Viejo. Milorad "Milo" Čavić ( sr-Cyrl, Милорад "Мило" Чавић, ; born May 31, 1984) is a Serbian former professional swimmer. He won a silver medal in the 100-meter butterfly at the 2008 Summer Olympics in a historic race with American swimmer Michael Phelps. Čavić also was World and European champion, as well as world record holder. He is one of four swimmers who broke 50 seconds in the 100m butterfly. Ron Turner (coach)
Ron Turner is a retired USA Swimming National Team coach based in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Turner was the Head Coach of the Jiangsu Swimming Team in Nanjing, China, where he was the coach for Chinese National Team members, including Olympic Bronze Medalist Shi Jinglin. Turner retired with 34 years coaching experience, having coached at numerous collegiate programs and nationally ranked club teams, including Indiana University (Bloomington), the YMCA of the Triangle Area Swim Team (Raleigh North Carolina), and Irvine Novaquatics (Irvine California). Turner was the Head Assistant Coach for the Hoosiers from 2001 to 2003, helping them achieve their first ever Women's Big Ten Championship Title. Colleen Anne Lanné (born August 18, 1979) is an American former competition swimming (sport), swimmer who represented the United States in the Olympics, FINA world championships and Pan American Games. She competed internationally in freestyle swimming, freestyle swimming events. Gabriel Thomas Woodward (born July 6, 1979) is an American former competition swimmer and Olympic medalist. On February 21, 2017, The Master's University announced that Gabe would be joining them to launch their first-ever swimming and diving program for the Fall 2017 season. He plans to make the Master's U program a member of the Pacific West Conference, a conference comprising NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions in the southwestern United States. Gabe is a 2001 Graduate of the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences. While at USC, he earned NCAA All-American honors three times. Lenny Krayzelburg
Lenny Krayzelburg (born September 28, 1975, as Leonid Krayzelburg; uk, Леонід Крайзельбург, russian: link=no, Леони́д Кра́йзельбург) is an American former backstroke swimmer, Olympic gold medalist, and former world record holder. He swam in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics, winning a total of four Olympic gold medals. Early years Krayzelburg is Jewish, and was born to Jewish parents in Odessa (then Soviet Union, now Ukraine). Krayzelburg and his family left the Soviet Union in 1989 for the United States. They settled in Los Angeles. After their immigration, Krayzelburg's family suffered from financial difficulties. Jessica Adele Hardy Meichtry (born March 12, 1987) is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke and freestyle events. Hardy earned a bronze medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle and a gold medal in the 4×100-meter medley relays at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Staciana Stitts Winfield (born September 12, 1981), née Staciana Stitts, is an American former competition swimmer and breaststroke specialist. She is a 2000 Summer Olympics and 1999 Pan American Games gold medalist, and 1998 Goodwill Games silver medalist. Stitts and her University of California, Berkeley teammates Haley Cope, Joscelin Yeo, and Praphalsai Minpraphal broke the 4×50-meter medley relay short-course world record in 2000 with a time of 1:49.23. Gabrielle Elaine Franco Rose (born January 11, 1977) is a Brazilian-American former competition swimmer who participated in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. Rose, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee, competed for Brazil at the 1995 Pan American Games and 1996 Summer Olympics, but later represented the United States starting at the 1999 Pan American Games.
