Bob Lakso
Robert Lakso is an American retired ice hockey left wing who was an All-American for Minnesota Duluth. Career Lakso was a star player for Aurora-Hoyt Lakes, playing football, cross country and track in addition to hockey. The NHL had changed its draft rules that year, making Lakso eligible for the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, and he was selected in the 9th round by his home state Minnesota North Stars. The following fall, Lasko began attending the University of Minnesota Duluth and he began his collegiate career slowly. A broken leg delayed the start to his sophomore season but, once he got back on the ice, Lakso began playing much better. The program changed coaches in 1982, and Mike Sertich's arrival changed the trajectory of the program. In his junior season Lakso was nearly a point-per-game player for a team that set a new program record with 28 wins. Jim Johannson
James Johannson (March 10, 1964January 21, 2018) was an American ice hockey player, coach and executive. He played for the United States national junior team at the World Juniors in 1983 and 1984, then played for the United States national team at the Winter Olympics in 1988 and 1992, the Ice Hockey World Championships in 1992, and was captain of the silver medal-winning team at the 1990 Goodwill Games. He played 374 games in the International Hockey League (IHL) after being selected by the Hartford Whalers in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He won the Turner Cup as the IHL playoffs champion with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in 1988, then again with the Indianapolis Ice in 1990. He played 264 consecutive games spanning three seasons by 1991, and received the Ironman Award from the IHL in recognition of his durability. Colin Chin (born August 28, 1961) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. Chin played 11 seasons of professional hockey, including 10 seasons and 660 games with his hometown club the Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League (IHL). John Bradley Werenka (born February 12, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, 47th overall. Werenka played college hockey for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats, with whom he won the 1991 NCAA hockey title. In addition to minor pro experience, Werenka went on to play for the Oilers, Quebec Nordiques, Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Calgary Flames. Steve Maltais (born January 25, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He was originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Maltais was born in Arvida, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1982 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Arvida.
