James Christian Charters (born 18 January 1988), better known as Ironik (formerly as DJ Ironik), is a British musician, DJ and rapper. His genre of music varies from hip hop, grime, R&B and UK garage. DJ Ironik was born in London. DJ Ironik has had three UK top 10 hits; Stay With Me charted at No. 5, Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer) charted at No. 3 and also I Got Soul, a charity single which reached No. 10 in the UK charts and has also had several top 5 hits in other European countries. Early life "DJ Ironik" (born James Charters) was born in North London to a Jamaican Father and a half English half Zimbabwean Mother. He decided on a career in music at an early age when doing GCSE in music. He first began to DJ at age 12, and started to produce at age 15. Stay With Me (Ironik Song)
"Stay with Me" (sometimes subtitled "Everybody's Free") is the first single from Ironik's debut album ''No Point in Wasting Tears''. The song peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart. Song information The song was written for his younger sister. There was a message in the lyrics for her; Ironik said "With all these people dying, if anything happens to me, there's a message in it for her." The track was produced by Alex James Sparks and samples lyrics of the song "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" by Quindon Tarver, which is a cover of the Rozalla hit " Everybody's Free". It also heavily samples the song "Written in the Stars" by Westlife, used as the main melody and for the chorus. Both samples are high-pitched. "Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer)" is a song by British rapper Ironik featuring fellow British rapper Chipmunk, from his debut album ''No Point in Wasting Tears'', released on 11 May 2009. I Got Soul
"I Got Soul" is a 2009 charity single by charity group War Child UK, recorded by Young Soul Rebels. It was released on 19 October 2009. It is a cover of The Killers' " All These Things That I've Done". A spokesman for War Child UK said, "We're using the track, based on the hook line 'I Got Soul, But I’m Not A Soldier' to draw attention to the 300,000 children who sadly are." It mainly features the Young Soul Rebels singing but also has clips of children in poverty, symbolizing what War Child charity is for. Union J are an English boy band, consisting of members JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley, George Shelley and Josh Cuthbert. Shelley left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Casey Johnson, who left several months later, Cuthbert left the group in 2018 leaving the band as duo until they disbanded in 2019. The band formed in 2011, originally as a trio known as Triple J, consisting of Cuthbert, Hamblett and Hensley. They auditioned for the ninth series of the British television music competition ''The X Factor'' where they met Shelley who joined the band at the judges' request.
