Iron Monkey (1993 Film)
''Iron Monkey'' is a 1993 Hong Kong martial arts film written and produced by Tsui Hark and directed by Yuen Woo-ping, starring Donnie Yen, Yu Rongguang, Jean Wang, Angie Tsang and Yuen Shun-yi. It is not related to the 1977 Hong Kong film of the same title. The film is a fictionalised account of an episode in the childhood of the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei-hung and his father Wong Kei-ying, and their encounter with the "Iron Monkey". In 1996, a separate film titled ''Iron Monkey 2'' was released, but it is unrelated to the 1993 film. Plot The plot centers on a masked martial artist known as Iron Monkey. Iron Monkey is actually the alter ego of a traditional Chinese medicine physician called Yang Tianchun. Hsiao Ho, (Hsiao Hou) (; Cantonese: Siu Hau, born 2 March 1958 in Meixian District, Guangdong, China) is a Hong Kong martial arts film actor, stunt performer and action choreographer. A Hakka, he has acted in many films directed by Lau Kar-leung, including ''Mad Monkey Kung Fu'' and Legendary Weapons of China. Yuen Shun-yi
Sunny Yuen Shun-yi (), also credited as Shun-yee Yuen, is a Hong Kong film actor, stuntman and action coordinator. Biography Yuen was the fourth of ten children of the martial artist Yuen Siu-tien. He began training in kung fu with his father from a young age. His elder brothers, Yuen Woo-ping and Yuen Cheung-yan, were also kung fu actors and directors. Together with his brothers, Shun-yi appeared in many films made by the Yuen clan, which was one of the foremost makers of Hong Kong martial arts films. James Wong Jim (; 18 March 1941 – 24 November 2004, also known as "霑叔" or "Uncle Jim") was a Cantopop lyricist and songwriter based primarily in Hong Kong.
