Iron Flower
''Iron Flower'' ( hu, Vasvirág) is a 1958 Hungarian drama film directed by János Herskó. It was entered into the 1958 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The story takes place in Óbuda in the 1930s. István Pettersen is a well-meaning, excellent fabric dyer, yet unemployed and homeless. He pulls himself into a miserable hut set on an abandoned plot and devotes his life from casual work. He meets and spends some happy days in the viscose with the orphaned Vera, who works at the local laundromat but dreams that, like her mother, she will one day be a dancer. Her boss, the wealthy Mr. Weiszhaupt, had long looked her in, and when the girl arrives late for work, he blackmails her. János Herskó
János Herskó (9 April 1926 – 12 October 2011) was a Hungarian film director and actor. He appeared in 15 films between 1963 and 2006. He also directed nine films between 1948 and 1990. In 1963, he was a member of the jury at the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival. Gyula Szabó (15 July 1930 – 4 April 2014) was a Hungarians, Hungarian actor. He won two Mari Jászai Prizes. He appeared in forty movies between 1953 and 2002. He is best known for appearing in movies such as ''Ifjú szívvel'' (1953), ''Kiskrajcár'' (1953), ''Egy pikoló világos'' (1955), ''A tizedes meg a többiek'' (1965) and ''Defekt'' (1977). He was the Hungarian voice of the eponymous American television character Columbo (character), Columbo and the narrator of the ''Hungarian Folktales'' animated television series.
