Irma González (wrestler)
Irma Morales Muñoz (born August 20, 1936), best known by her ring name Irma González, is a Mexican retired ''luchadora'' (or professional wrestler). During her over forty-year career, from the 1950s to the 1990s, she also competed at various times under the masked characters Flor Negra ("Black Flower"), Rosa Blanca ("White Rose"), La Tirana ("The Tyrant"), La Dama del Enfermero ("The Nurse Lady"), La Enfermera ("The Nurse") and La Novia del Santo ("The Bride of El Santo"). She is one of the pioneers of women's professional wrestling in Mexico, part of the first wave of Mexican women who made their debuts in the early 1950s, at a time where virtually no women's matches were promoted in Mexico. She is a five-time holder of the Mexican National Women's Championship, a two-time winner of the UWA World Women's Championship, and won both a US-based and an Indonesian-based world championship. Irma Eugenia Aguilar Morales (born July 13, 1957) is a Mexican former professional wrestler, most commonly known under the ring name Irma Aguilar. She is the daughter of Irma González, a pioneer of women's professional wrestling in Mexico. Her career start in 1975, with her last known match taking place in 1997. Aguilar was the first holder of the Mexican National Women's Tag Team Championship alongside her mother, as well as the first Distrito Federal Women's Champion, and held the UWA World Women's Championship. Lucha De Apuestas
Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached. Tag team wrestling is especially prevalent in lucha libre, particularly matches with three-member teams, called ''trios''. Antonio Peña Promotions, S.A. de C.V. d/b/a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is a Mexican Lucha Libre (professional wrestling) promotion based in Mexico City, Mexico. Commonly referred to as simply AAA (pronounced "triple A"; an abbreviation of its original name Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, Spanish for "Assistance, Assessment, and Administration"), the promotion was founded in 1992 when Antonio Peña broke away from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to set up a promotion, which allowed him more creative freedom. Triplemanía III-A was the first of three parts of the third Triplemanía professional wrestling show series promoted by Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). 1995 was second year to feature the "Triplemanía Series" of shows with 3, referred to as III-A, III-B and III-C. The show took place on June 10, 1995 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The Main event featured a 13-wrestler Steel Cage Elimination match, ''Lucha de Apuestas'' "Mask vs. Mask" match featuring the "Mini-Estrellas" division. The participants included Ninjita, Espectrito I, Espectrito II, Jerrito Estrada, Fuercita Guerrera, Mascarita Sagrada, Mini Calo, Octagoncito, La Parkita, Payasito Rojo, Payasito Azul, Super Muñequito, and Torerito. Lidia Hortencia Rangel Ávalos (born December 29, 1955) is a Mexican former professional wrestler, more commonly known under the ring name Pantera Sureña (Spanish for "Southern Panther"). She has also worked as the '' enmascarada'' ("masked") wrestling characters La Galáctica, La Galáctica 2000, Lady Discovery and Lady Metal during her career. Her career began in 1969 and stretched until 2008 where she worked her last match. As Pantera Sureña, Rangel started her career as a ''luchadora enmascarada'', but lost her mask to Lola González in 1977. Martha García Mejía (born May 30, 1962) is a Mexican former ''luchadora'', or female professional wrestler best known under the ring name Martha Villalobos an active wrestling promoter, running a company named ''Reyes del Ring'' ("Kings of the Ring"). She is the daughter of professional wrestler Panchito Villalobos and the sister of retired wrestlers Johnny and Bobby Villalobos. Maricela Neftaly Gallegos Gonzalez (born November 5, 1970) is a Mexican former '' luchadora'' (or female professional wrestler), known under the ring name Neftaly, sometimes spelled Neftali. Over the years, Neftaly worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, Universal Wrestling Association and AAA in Mexico and for Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, JDStar, W*ING and Big Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan. María Dolores González (born March 2, 1959) is a Mexican professional wrestler, known by her ringname Lola González, who has competed in the Universal Wrestling Association and the World Wrestling Association for over three decades. At one time one of the most popular female '' tecnicos'' in Mexico, she dominated the UWA World Women's Championship during the mid-to late 1980s holding the title a record four times. In AAA she is a former AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and a two-time Mexican National Women's Champion. The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) was a Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' or professional wrestling promotion based in Naucalpan, Mexico State that operated from 1975 until 1995. The name of the actual promotion was Lucha Libre Internacional (LLI) ("International wrestling") but outside of Mexico it is generally referred to as the UWA as it was the name of the fictional international sanctioning body that in storyline terms oversaw all championships promoted by the UWA. Vicki Williams (born April 21, 1956) is a retired female professional wrestler. She held the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship three times with Joyce Grable. Professional wrestling career During a match in June 1971, midget wrestler Darlin Dagmar teamed with Williams to defeat midget wrestler Diamond Lil and Ann Casey. The following year, Williams was a contender to The Fabulous Moolah's NWA World Women's Championship, facing her for the title in Baltimore in May 1972. In August, Moolah once again defeated Williams—with the title on the line—at the first Superbowl of Wrestling event. The ''EMLL Carnaval de Campeones'' (Spanish for the "EMLL Carnival of Champions") was a major professional wrestling event produced by Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) that took place on January 13, 1965, in EMLL's home arena Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. As the name indicated most of the matches on the show, five out of six, featured a champion defending their championship against a chosen challenger. This was one of the few special, major shows promoted by EMLL outside of their annual EMLL Anniversary, Arena México Anniversary and Arena Coliseo Anniversary shows.
