The Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) (Irish: ''Feirmeoirí Aontaithe na hÉireann'') is a national organisation to represent the interests of all sectors of farming in the Republic of Ireland. The IFA is Ireland's largest farming representative organisation and has operated more than 60 years. The IFA represents Irish farmers at home and in Europe, lobbying and campaigning for improved conditions and incomes for farm families. It also provides representation, support and advice to members on an individual basis. IFA is a democratic association, organised in branches, county executive and national committees. The IFA's head office is at the Irish Farm Centre, in Bluebell, Dublin. It also maintains 12 regional offices and an office in Brussels. John Donnelly (Irish Farmer)
John Donnelly is an Irish farmer who was President of the Irish Farmers' Association, 1994–1998. A native of Abbey, County Galway, Donnelly was born in the townland of Conicare. He was educated at the local national school and for one term at St. Molaisses College, Portumna. He became a member of Macra na Feirme, winning the All-Ireland Macra na Feirme debating final in 1975. He joined the Irish Farmers' Association in 1977, shortly afterwards becoming Branch Chairman. County Laois ( ; gle, Contae Laoise) is a county in Ireland. It is part of the Eastern and Midland Region and in the province of Leinster. It was known as Queen's County from 1556 to 1922. Tom Parlon
Tom Parlon (born 19 August 1953) is a former Irish Progressive Democrats politician. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Laois–Offaly constituency from 2002 to 2007 and was also the Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works. He later served as the Director General of the Construction Industry Federation of Ireland. Early life and politics Parlon was educated at Coolderry National School, Roscrea CBS, and Gurteen College.
