Irina Vorobieva
Irina Nikolayevna Vorobieva (russian: Ирина Николаевна Воробьёва; 30 June 1958 – 12 April 2022) was a Russian pair skater who competed for the Soviet Union. With her then-husband Igor Lisovsky, she was the 1981 World champion and the 1981 European champion. They were coached by Tamara Moskvina. Before teaming up with Lisovsky, she competed with Aleksandr Vlasov, with whom she was the 1977 World silver medalist, 1976 World bronze medalist, and placed 4th at the 1976 Olympics. Most recently, she worked as a coach at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Brian Wells (figure Skater)
Brian Wells (born September 23, 1970) is an American retired competitive pair skater. He had the most success with partner Shelby Lyons, with whom he won four medals at the United States Figure Skating Championships, and competed with twice at the World Figure Skating Championships, placing 10th in 1996 and in 1998. Their partnership ended in 1998. Wells had previously competed with Laura Murphy, with whom he won the gold at the 1990 United States Collegiate Championships. Before that, he had competed with sister Ann-Marie Wells on the Junior level and at the 1988 and 1989 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Shelby Lyons
Shelby Lyons (born May 24, 1981 in Oswego, New York) is an American retired competitive figure skater who competed in both singles and pairs. She originally competed as a single skater on the novice level before teaming up with Brian Wells. They won four medals at the United States Figure Skating Championships between 1995 and 1998, and competed twice at the World Figure Skating Championships, placing 10th in 1996 and in 1998. Their partnership ended in 1998. During this time, Lyons had been competing in singles. She was the 1996 U.S. Junior national champion in singles and had competed on the Junior Grand Prix. Following the end of the partnership, Lyons went back to focusing on skating singles. Derek Trent (born March 21, 1980) is an American former competitive pair skater. He competed for most of his career with Tiffany Vise. On November 17, 2007, Vise and Trent landed the first clean throw quadruple salchow jump in international competition. They officially became the first team to perform that element in international competition. Because Vise spun and jumped in the clockwise direction and Trent in the counter-clockwise direction. Tiffany Vise (born February 2, 1986) is an American retired pair skating, pair skater. Between 2003 and 2009, she competed with partner Derek Trent. On November 17, 2007, Vise and Trent landed the first clean throw quadruple salchow jump in international competition. They officially became the first team to perform that element in international competition. Their partnership ended in the spring of 2009 when Trent retired from competitive skating. Vise teamed up with Don Baldwin and began competing with him in the 2009–2010 season. Vise is a clockwise spinner while her partners have been counter-clockwise spinners. Nicholas Kole
Nicholas Kole (born November 30, 1983) is an American pair skater. He currently competes with Amber Kole. They teamed up in 2006 and placed 16th at the 2007 United States Figure Skating Championships. In 2007 they came second at the 2008 Midwestern Sectional Championships and 13th at the 2008 United States Figure Skating Championships. Kole was born in Littleton, Colorado. His first competition partner was Maroc Fassel, from 1997 to 1999. Kole subsequently competed with Brittany Vise, with whom he had a lot of success on the junior level, winning five medals on the Junior Grand Prix, including the silver medal at the 2005 Junior Grand Prix Final. World Arena
The Broadmoor World Arena (originally known as the Colorado Springs World Arena) in Colorado Springs, Colorado is an 8,000 seat multi-purpose arena and entertainment venue. The arena opened in 1998. In addition to the main arena, the adjacent Ice Hall contains two practice rinks, one NHL-sized and one Olympic-sized. The facility is home to world-class concerts and events, the Broadmoor Skating Club (BSC), numerous elite figure skaters, and the Colorado Gold Speedskating Club.
