Irene Frances Adza Mountbatten, Marchioness of Carisbrooke, (''née'' Denison; 4 July 1890 – 16 July 1956) was born in London, England, the daughter of William Francis Henry Denison, 2nd Earl of Londesborough, and Lady Grace Adelaide (daughter of Francis Fane, 12th Earl of Westmorland). She married Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke, a female-line grandson of Queen Victoria. The first president of the Women’s Automobile And Sports Association (1929). East Cowes is a town and civil parish in the north of the Isle of Wight, on the east bank of the River Medina, next to its west bank neighbour Cowes. The two towns are connected by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferry operated by the Isle of Wight Council.
