Iraqi First Division League
The Iraqi First Division League is a football league that is the third tier of the Iraqi football league system. The league consists of 26 teams and was founded in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have varied throughout history for various reasons. The top two teams are promoted directly to the Iraqi Premier Division League, while 10 teams are relegated directly to the Iraqi Second Division League. It is governed by the Iraq Football Association (IFA), and may be introduced into the top tiers of Iraqi football that are governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association in the future. In last season, Al-Etisalat won the championship title after defeating Al-Hawija in the final match, with a big score of 5–0. Iraqi Premier Division League
The Iraqi Premier Division League ( ar, دوري الدرجة الممتازة العراقي) is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 22 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). It will be governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association from the 2024–25 season. Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League. The four lowest-finishing teams are relegated to Iraqi First Division League, First Division League. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history, most recently in the 2023–24 Iraqi Premier Division League, 2023–24 season, when the number of clubs decreased from 24 to 22 and the competition's name was changed from First Division League to Premier Division League. Muthanna Governorate ( ar, المثنى ''Al Muthannā'') or Al Muthanna Province, is a province in Iraq, named after the 7th-century Arab general al-Muthanna ibn Haritha. Wasit Governorate ( ar, واسط, translit=Wāsit) is a governorate in eastern Iraq, south-east of Baghdad and bordering Iran. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province.
