Iran–Kuwait Relations
Kuwait and Iran have longstanding historical ties spanning hundreds of years, particularly in the pre-oil era. Relations were negatively influenced by the Iranian Revolution in 1979 and the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s. Relations improved after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. 20th century Historically, Kuwait had 'Ajam of Kuwait, close political, economic, and cultural ties to Iran. In 1961, Kuwait became an independent country gaining its sovereignty. In the 1980s, Kuwait sided with Iraq during the Iran-Iraq War. Madinat Al-Hareer
Silk City (Arabic: مدينة الحرير ''romanized:'' Madinat al-Hareer) is a large infrastructure project in northern Kuwait which is currently under development (Phase I). The project will be built in individual phases. In May 2019, the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway opened as part of the Silk City project's first phase, the project's first phase also includes Mubarak Al Kabeer Port which is currently under construction. The Silk City project is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative. Kuwaiti Arabic
Kuwaiti (in Kuwaiti accent , ) is a Gulf Arabic dialect spoken in Kuwait. Kuwaiti Arabic shares many phonetic features unique to Gulf dialects spoken in the Arabian Peninsula. Due to Kuwait's soap opera industry, knowledge of Kuwaiti Arabic has spread throughout the Arabic-speaking world and become recognizable even to people in countries such as Tunisia and Jordan. Larestani
Achomi ( fa, اچُمی), also known as Larestani and Khodmooni, is a Southwestern Iranian Persian language spoken by people in southern Fars and western Hormozgan and by significant numbers of immigrant groups in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and other Persian Gulf Arab countries. It is the predominant language of Larestan, Khonj, Gerash, Lamerd, and Evaz counties in Fars and Bastak County in Hormozgan Province. It is also spoken by some Huwalas in the Gulf countries. Baloch People

Achomi People
Achomi ( fa, اَچُمِی), also called Khodmooni (), Lari ( fa, لآرِی), or Larestani ( fa, لآرِستَانِی), are an Iranian sub-ethnic group of Persians who inhabit primarily in southern Iran in a region historically known as Laristan. They are predominantly Sunni Muslims, with a Shia minority. Significant numbers of Achomi people have migrated to Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, and other Arab states of the Persian Gulf. The historical region of Irahistan consists of several counties in Fars Province (Larestan, Khonj, Gerash, Lamerd) and Bastak County in Hormozgan. Evaz
Evaz ( fa, اوز, also Romanized as Awadh, Avaz, Evazeh, and ‘ewaz) is a city and capital of Evaz County, in Fars Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 14,315, in 3,297 families. Al-Kandari
The Al Kandari family is a large family in Kuwait. They are of Sunni Muslim Larestani ancestry. The Al Kandari family is not a tribe; as each family may have different ancestors. Therefore the Al Kandari family is simply a sizable family with various sub-families, or families closely related to the Al Kandari family. Notable members of the family now include Mohammed Al-Kandari, a member of Kuwait National Assembly; Anas Al Kandari, a militant who died fighting United States Marines on Failaka Island; and Abdullah Kamel Al Kandari and Fayiz Al Kandari, two Kuwaitis who claimed to have traveled to Afghanistan to provide humanitarian aid, who ended up being sent to the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, in part, because their names, or "known aliases" were found on a "list of 324 names" analysts found suspicious. Shia Islam In Kuwait
Shia Islam constitutes a significant minority in Kuwait. In 2001, the US Department of State reported that there were 300,000 Shia Kuwaiti citizens and 820,000 Kuwaiti citizens in total thus Shias formed 36.5% of the Kuwaiti citizen population. In 2002, the US Department of State reported that Shia Kuwaitis formed 30-40% of Kuwait's citizen population, noting there were 525,000 Sunni citizens and 855,000 Kuwaiti citizens in total (61% Sunnis, 39% Shias).
