Iranian Premier League
The Persian Gulf Pro League ( fa, لیگ برتر خلیج فارس, ''Lig-e Bartar-e Xalij-e Fârs''), formerly known as the Iran Pro League ( fa, links=no, لیگ برتر ایران, ''Lig-e bartar-e Irân''), is the highest division of professional football in Iran. It is the top-level football league in Iran since its foundation. Each year, its top team becomes the Iranian football champion, and the two lowest finishers are relegated to Azadegan League. Since 2013, the league comprises 16 teams. The winner and runner-up of the Persian Gulf Pro League along with the Hazfi Cup champion are automatically qualified for the AFC Champions League group stages. The third of the Persian Gulf Pro League is qualified for the AFC Champions League Play-off round. The bottom two teams in the league are relegated to Azadegan League. Al Iraqiya
Al Iraqiya ( ar, العراقيّة, al-ʿIrāqiyyä) is a satellite and terrestrial public broadcaster and television network in Iraq that was set up after the fall of Saddam Hussein. It is an Arabic language network that serves upwards of 85% of Iraq's population, and is viewed by a significant percentage (about 40%). The channel began under the name IMN as part of the Iraqi Media Network (or Shabeket al-Elam Iraqi in Arabic) project undertaken. The Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was the contractor for this Defense Department project. Included in the programming is the very aggressive Political Actuality program "Burning Issues" that tackles the very sensitive subject of terrorism in Iraq, hosting both the victims and the arrested/convicted perpetrators. Foolad F
Foolad Khuzestan Football Club ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال فولاد خوزستان, ''Bāshgāh-e Futbāl-e Fulād-e Khuzestān'') is an Iranian football club, based in Ahwaz, Khuzestan that plays in Persian Gulf Pro League. Foolad F.C. was founded in 1971 and is owned by Foolad Khuzestan Company. The club has won Iran Pro League twice, including a championship in the lower division, Azadegan League. In the 2004–05 season, Foolad became the champion of the fourth newly founded Iran Pro League (IPL), gaining a total of 64 points over 30 league matches that is the highest point for a leader since 2001. 2004–05 Iran Pro League
The 2004–05 Iran Pro League was the 22nd season of Iran's Football League and fourth as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. PAS Tehran were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2003–04 Iran Pro League and two new teams promoted from the 2003–04 Azadegan League: Saba Battery as champions and Malavan as runner-up. The league started on 13 September 2004 and ended on 20 June 2005. Foolad won the Pro League title for the first time in their history (total first Iranian title). Iranian Football League System
The Iranian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Iran. Structure The current structure has been in place since 2001. The Persian Gulf Pro League (PGL) is the highest level of club football in Iran. It is also called the Pro League. Below it is the Azadegan League, also known as the 1st division and called the League 1, which consists of one twenty-team group. One level further down from that is the 2nd division, also known as a League 2 which is made up of 40 teams evenly distributed into four groups. One step down, and the final nationwide league, is the 3rd division, also known as a League 3. This level has five groups and 60 teams.
