The Iowa State Cyclones Hall of Fame is a hall of fame that recognizes former student-athletes that achieved great success during their time at Iowa State University over the past 120 years. History The Hall of Fame was first created in 1997. Since the program's inception in 1997, there have been 161 individuals inducted. Induction process Former student-athletes can be nominated by either athletic department employees or members of the Letterwinners Club. A nominated committee is selected by the Letterwinners Club executive committee who then selects members for induction. A varying number of members are inducted each year. Each fall during Letterwinners Weekend, the Iowa State Letterwinners Club hosts the Iowa State University Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Iowa State Cyclones baseball was the intercollegiate baseball program at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. The program existed from 1892 to 2001. Due to budget cuts, Iowa State athletic director Bruce Van De Velde announced the end of the baseball program on April 2, 2001. Eppie L. Barney Jr. (March 20, 1944 – January 21, 2004) was a professional American football player who played wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns. Eppie solidified himself as one of the finest receivers in Iowa State history during his tenure from 1964-66. Barney, who switched from tailback to receiver prior to his junior season, ended his impressive career as a two-time first-team all-Big Eight pick and All-American (1966). He graduated as the Big Eight's record-holder in four receiving categories. The Iowa State Cyclones women's golf team represents Iowa State University (ISU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. The team is coached by Christie Martens, she is in her 17th year at Iowa State. The Cyclones play their home meets at Veenker Memorial Golf Course on Iowa State's campus. History The Iowa State women's golf team first got it start in 1972, initially competing in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). Off the heels of their hot start the Cyclones appeared in three AIAW Championships in their first 12 years of existence, finishing top 25 each time. George Amundson
George Arthur Amundson (born March 31, 1951) is a former American football running back in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft. He played college football at Iowa State, both at quarterback and running back. He has been inducted into both the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame and Iowa State Hall of Fame. Victor Joe Alexander (born August 31, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. Listed at 6'10" (2.08 m) tall, and 265 pounds (120 kg) in weight, he played as a center and power forward. College career Alexander was considered one of the top low-post scorers in Iowa State history. The burly center was named a First-Team All- Big Eight choice in 1989 and 1991, and his 1,892 career points scored ranks fourth all-time in the school's history. He led the Big Eight in field goal percentage in 1991, at 65.9 percent.
