Ionuț Dumitru
Ionuț Răzvan Dumitru (born 6 November 1992) is a Romanian people, Romanian rugby union player. He plays mainly as a Wing (rugby union), wing and occasionally as a centre for professional SuperLiga (rugby), SuperLiga club CSA Steaua București (rugby), Steaua and București based European Challenge Cup side the București Wolves, Wolves. Dumitru also plays for Romania's national team the Romania national rugby union team, Oaks. Professional career Ionuț Dumitru currently plays for Steaua București. International career Dumitru made his international debut in 2013 in the wing position against Russia national rugby union team, Russia. He played for Romania in the IRB Nations Cup and in their 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifying before appearing for them in their 2013 end-of-year rugby union tests, 2013 end of year tour. CSA Steaua București is a professional Romanian rugby union club from Ghencea, south-west Bucharest, which plays in the Liga Națională de Rugby, the first division of Romanian rugby. They are the most successful rugby union team in the Romania with 24 championship titles and 15 cup titles to their name. History The Steaua București rugby club was founded in 1948, under the wing of the CSA Steaua București sports club that had been founded by the Romanian Army the previous year, and had traditionally consisted of members drawn from ranks of the army, hence their nickname, the military men. Steaua established crosstown rivalries with Dinamo București and Grivița Roșie București before winning the team's first Romanian Cup in 1950.
