Inzago
Inzago ( lmo, Inzagh or ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan. Inzago borders the following municipalities: Pozzo d'Adda, Masate, Gessate, Cassano d'Adda, Bellinzago Lombardo, Pozzuolo Martesana. The brothers Luca, Disma, Adolfo, and Polibio Fumagalli were all born in Inzago. All were composers; Adolfo, Luca, and Disma were pianists, and Polibio was an organist. Also born in Inzago were the supercentenarian Maria Redaelli, the architect Giuseppe Boretti, the Venerable Benigno Calvi, and the cyclist Gabriele Missaglia Gabriele Missaglia (born 24 July 1970 in Inzago) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer. Luca Fumagalli
Luca Fumagalli (born Inzago, May 29, 1837 - died Milan, June 5, 1908) was an Italian composer, pianist, and music educator. Fumagalli studied at the Milan Conservatory before traveling to Paris in 1860. He taught piano at the Philadelphia Conservatory and, later, in Milan. Polibio Fumagalli
Polibio Fumagalli (26 October 1830 in Inzago – 21 June 1900 in Milan) was an Italian composer, organist, and pianist. Fumagalli studied organ at the Milan Conservatory; beginning in 1873 he taught organ at that institution. Among his students were Marco Enrico Bossi and Pietro Yon. He also served as choirmaster of the Church of San Celso. Much of Fumagalli's compositional output was for his own instrument, he had over 300 pieces published. His work ''La Caccia'' was taken up by the English organist William Thomas Best as a frequent concert piece. Fumagalli's brothers Carlo, Disma, Adolfo, and Luca were all composers as well. Adolfo Fumagalli
Adolfo Fumagalli (19 October 18283 May 1856) was a 19th-century Italian virtuoso pianist and composer, known today primarily for his virtuosic compositions for the left hand alone. Born in Inzago, Italy, he grew up in a very musically oriented environment. He had three brothers who also became musicians and composers, these being Carlo (1822-1907), Luca (1837 - 1908), Disma (1826 - 1893) and Polibio (1830 - 1901). Fumagalli studied music with Angeloni at the Milan Conservatory and, in 1848, at the age of 20, made his Milan debut with some success. He then travelled to Turin, Paris, Belgium and Denmark, playing his own operatic fantasies and other salon works to great acclaim. In 1856 he returned to Italy and, when he arrived, was soon thereafter given an Erard grand piano from the firm as an advertising promotion. Disma Fumagalli (born Inzago, 8 September 1826 - died Milan, 9 March 1893) was an Italian composer and teacher of music.
