Involver
''Involver'' is a mix album by Welsh DJ Sasha. It was released on 14 June 2004 through British record label Global Underground. Tracks by other artists which Sasha admired were chosen for the album and have each been remixed to give his own interpretation of them. It received generally favorable reviews for its track selection and creative mixing techniques. The compilation features additional co-production from British producers Charlie May and Simon Wright. It is Sasha's only mix album to chart on the UK and US Albums Chart, peaking at numbers 61 and 200 respectively on release. Background In 2005, the Grammy committee debated whether ''Involver'' was eligible for nomination as Best Electronic/Dance Album. The Recording Academy decided that the album was eligible, but ''Involver'' did not receive a nomination. Sasha (DJ)
Alexander Paul Coe (born 4 September 1969), known professionally as Sasha, is a Welsh DJ and record producer. He is best known for his live events and electronic music as a solo artist, as well as his collaborations with British DJ John Digweed as Sasha & John Digweed. He was voted as World No. 1 DJ in 2000 in a poll conducted by ''DJ Magazine''. He is a four-time International Dance Music Awards winner, four-time DJ Awards winner and Grammy Award nominee. Sasha began his career playing acid house music in the late 1980s. He partnered with John Digweed in 1993, touring internationally and producing a series of mix albums (compilations of other artists' work played in a continuous fashion). Sasha has remixed tracks for artists such as D-Ream, Madonna, Moby, The Chemical Brothers and Hot Chip. Ulrich Schnauss
Ulrich Schnauss (born 1977) is a German electronic musician and producer based in London, England. He is best known for being a member of Tangerine Dream from 2014 to 2020. Biography Ulrich Schnauss was born in the northern German seaport of Kiel in 1977. He had piano lessons when he was seven. He became interested in a range of music: My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Tangerine Dream, Chapterhouse, and early bleep and breakbeat tracks. There was not much opportunity to see his musical influences in Kiel, so he moved to Berlin in 1996. Schnauss' musical output began under the pseudonyms of View to the Future and Ethereal 77. These electronica and drum-driven pieces were noticed by Berlin electronica label CCO (City Centre Offices), to which Schnauss sent CDs on a regular basis. Airdrawndagger
''Airdrawndagger'' is the second studio album by Welsh DJ Sasha. It was released on 5 August 2002 through Kinetic Records and BMG, with a digital download release issued by Deconstruction Records. The album features co-production from Charlie May, Junkie XL and James Holden. It was released with one single, "Wavy Gravy", on 19 August 2002, which had an amateur remix contest held in 2003. Despite the release of ''The Qat Collection'' in 1994, ''Airdrawndagger'' was advertised as Sasha's "debut artist album". Upon release, the album charted on the UK and US Albums Charts, peaking at number 18 and 157 respectively. Background The album is named after the term "air-drawn dagger", which was used in William Shakespeare's ''Macbeth'' to characterise an emotional outburst. Spooky are a British electronic music production and DJ duo consisting of Duncan Forbes and Charlie May. History They debuted with '' Gargantuan'' in 1993 after signing to Guerilla Records. In 1995 and 1996, they released three EPs (''Clank'', ''Stereo'' and ''Shunt'') on their own Generic Records label, followed quickly in mid-1996 by their second album, ''Found Sound''. Two singles from this album were released: "Fingerbobs" and "Bamboo". Charlie May collaborated with Sasha on his 1999 '' Xpander'' EP and 2000's " Scorchio", and in 2002 he co-produced some tracks on Sasha's '' Airdrawndagger'' album. Lostep is a production duo composed of Australian producers Luke Chable and Phil K. They have released singles on labels such as Eq rey Additionally, their music has appeared on compilations by Sasha and Dave Seaman. Grand National (band)
Grand National are a British band from London, England who have toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States. The project is a collaboration between Rupert Lyddon (born 1975, Amersham) and Lawrence Rudd (born 1976, Weston-super-Mare), who also is a DJ and remixer. Their sound is reminiscent of early forays into electronic sound manipulation, new wave and psychedelic soul. As a live act the band usually adopt a six-piece format. Felix da Housecat (born Felix Stallings Jr., August 25, 1971) is an American DJ and record producer, mostly known for house music and electro. Felix is regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago house Musical career Early life Stallings developed an interest in the emergent Chicago house music scene at a young age.
