Invincible (Lemar Album)
''Invincible'' is the fifth studio album by English singer Lemar. It was released by Angelic Media Limited on 8 October 2012 in the United Kingdom and marked his first independent release following his departure from Sony. The album debuted and peaked at number 49 on the UK Albums Chart and produced the single, " Invincible". Background Commenting on the making of the album, Lemar said in an interview with ''Digital Spy'': "The making of this album for me has probably been the most refreshing, mainly because I wasn't trying to record an album, so to speak. I thought I'd take some time off, write some songs for a bit, go and hang in LA for a bit. The album kind of evolved, and I thought, 'You know what, these songs are good'. It's fairly musical. There's nothing really generic about this album, in that when I say generic I mean it's not typically R&B or typically soul or typically pop, it's got different elements from the three. Lemar
Lemar Obika (born 4 April 1978), known as Lemar, is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. Initially rising to fame after finishing third on the first series of British talent show ''Fame Academy'', he was later signed to Sony BMG, where he has gone on to release five studio albums, three of which are certified platinum or double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Lemar's double-platinum debut album '' Dedicated'' was released in November 2003 and contained the successful singles "Dance (With U)", " 50/50" and " Another Day", all of which charted in the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. His second effort, ''Time to Grow'', saw similar success, again achieving double platinum certification and spawning his most successful single, "If There's Any Justice", which peaked at number 3 and spent four months in the UK Singles Chart. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Steve Booker is a British music producer, songwriter and musician. His production and writing credits include Illenium feat. Tori Kelly "Blame Myself" and the international No.1 singles; John Newman's " Love Me Again" for which Booker was nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically and Duffy's "Mercy" for which Booker won the Ivor Novello Award for most performed work.
