'' Inversions ''is the second extended play album by American rock band The Colourist. Released on 28 October 2014, the album contains remixes of five songs from the eponymous debut LP from the band by recording artists such as The Chainsmokers, St. Lucia, Yeasayer, Magic Man and The Jane Doze. Background In early 2013, Jean-Philip Grobler (also known as St. Lucia) remixed "Little Games", the debut single from the band, which was portrayed on Vice Media. In the middle of that year, MTV published the Magic Man Remix of "Yes Yes" with Baeble Music and Hellhound Music featuring The Chainsmokers remix of "Fix This" at the end of that year. Four months prior, debut EP ''Lido'' was published with their debut studio album being released during the first quarter of 2014. The Colourist
The Colourist is an American rock band from Orange County, California, formed in 2009 by Adam Castilla, Maya Tuttle, Justin Wagner, and Kollin Johannsen. The band has been inactive since Tuttle's departure in December 2016, but reunited in 2021 and are making music. History 2007–2012: Beginnings Castilla and Tuttle met while performing in the band Paper Thin Walls, who rose to notoriety after being chosen to play the 2007 Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London. The name "The Colourist" was borne out of a conversation with a friend of the band—a film student who was working with a film colorist at the time. Because the name was not already used, the ensemble decided to use the British/Canadian spelling for aesthetic and availability reasons. Yeasayer () was an American experimental rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2006. The band consisted of Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder. They announced their split on December 19, 2019. History Formation The band's three core members, Chris Keating (born ), Ira Wolf Tuton (born ), and Anand Wilder (born ), first came to attention after appearing at the SXSW festival in early 2007. Keating and Wilder had previously met and begun performing together while in high school, at the Park School of Baltimore (the alma mater of fellow experimental musicians Animal Collective). Chris Keating attended Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), graduating from the Film, Animation, Video department in 2004. Invisible Children, Inc
Invisible Children, Inc., founded in 2004, is an organization to increase awareness of the activities of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) in Central Africa, and its leader, Joseph Kony. Specifically, the group seeks to put an end to the practices of the LRA, which include abductions and abuse of children, and forcing them to serve as soldiers. To this end, Invisible Children urges the United States government to take military action in the central region of Africa. Invisible Children also operates as a charitable organization, soliciting donations and selling merchandise to raise money for its cause. The organization promotes its cause by dispensing films on the internet and presenting in high schools and colleges around the United States. When the organization was founded, the LRA was active in Uganda. Magic Man was a two-piece American major label electronic rock band from Boston, formed in 2010 by Alex Caplow (vocals) and Sam Lee (guitars and keyboard). Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free.
